Colour would still work, if you wanted it. Just make sure everything is in it's place. Good/Safe practice would be to end format codes in the order opposite to how you start them. (Provided they don't interfere with each other)

EDIT EDIT: Just quoted you... Should have realized it was noparse, but no clue what gainsboro is.
noparse for forum tags, but that doesn't work for my tags. So I use [gainsboro][/gainsboro] to break RS Linkify tags when I want to write examples. Works for links too. It's just a colour tag that closely matched the default text colour.
