@Toastcrumbs, currently RS-Linkify doesn't fix that issue with \ . However I try to hide it when viewing posts.

There is only so much I can do when dealing with \ in posts. It's really not my place to change the text content of someones post based on a guess. If I just remove them it will break other things, or may alter the authors the post in ways they didn't intend.

all I have done is handle \ n that appear in posts since that's meant to be a linebreak, anything beyond that I haven't touched.

For every quote that quotes a broken quote it gets worse, and it's because they haven't fixed the original problem.

We need Jagex to stop doing this. Maybe if enough people ask them to stop breaking their posts they may fix it.

Ages ago I tried some things for custom titles. At the time hiding things in qfc was limited to digits and the max length was pretty small too. But things have changed since then.

If you quote this post you'll see it is do-able. The only thing I have consider is offensive text. Not that it bothers me, but getting complaints from others is something I wish to avoid. I'll definitely play around with it again.
