Linkify appears to be having difficulties displaying video links coming from Streamable.com

https://i.imgur.com/hHXUkl1.png - if you hover your cursor over the blank page, the video player does show but it's at 0:00 and is greyed out.

Linkify disabled: https://i.imgur.com/UUs2FpG.png - link appears.

I even tried to disable "embed video" on Linkify but it still happens.

EDIT: appears to be fixed now
EDIT2: broken again
Seems like it works sometimes and breaks the next
.

Hiya Singularity, thanks for letting me know.

I have just published version 3.1.9.91 to fix the issue. Seems the streamable servers no longer like my embedding technique. I have just made some changes that should have it working once again.

Hey Indy -

I'm sure this has crossed your mind, but what are the limitations to creating a mobile app for the forums? It wouldn't need to be flashy - better formatting than the browser on mobile, ability to quote.

I realize that's nothing similar to Linkify as an add-on, but was curious to hear your perspective on whether or not it's even possible for an outside party to create a mobile app.

Thanks!

Interesting question and yes this is something I have thought about and discussed with friends.

It's totally doable if you know how to code on mobile platforms (I certainly don't). As for limitations, I don't think there would be many at all. Quoting, embedding, etc, no problem.

I expect there would be a number of 'scapers that could cut code for mobile devices. The fact there is isn't much out there as far as RSOF apps goes isn't because of a lack of talent. I have a feeling there isn't much appeal in developing for a dying forum. If Jagex released some tools (made some forum APIs public) then things might be different.

Also since the game is going mobile I have it in the back of my mind that the website should too. It doesn't make sense to have a mobile game and not a mobile friendly site. I haven't heard anything about this and I don't know of any proposed changes or plans to make the site mobile friendly. If nothing changed I wouldn't be surprised.

However, I think anyone who's developing or interested in developing apps/plugins for these forums will be holding off for now and waiting to see if anything changes in the near future. One reason why I'm particularly reluctant to expand features is because I don't know what's around the corner.

That's not to say it shouldn't be done, I'd love to see a mobile forum app. There is never a perfect time to start when it comes to developing 3rd party apps. It's just that anyone jumping in now needs to be prepared to adapt to changes, even if those changes never come.

Heya Indy! > ) Got a couple requests:

1. New ava

Thing is, I don't know whether the white background would be better as transparent instead... could I ask for two versions, one with white and one with transparent background? Or maybe there's someone else who frequents this thread that could also do that, I vaguely remember a similar thing happening before.

2. New title, like so:

Blackwing
Sirocco the Dawn

Cheers!

Hiya Blackwing :)

Wow it's been a while since I've done any avatars, I'm a little rusty tbh. Here's two you can play around with. If there is any problem let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I have added your new title but it might take RS Linkify a few hours to update.

It looks like you removed the brown (wing) part on the right side, idk whether that was accidental or intentional, but it's a pretty interesting change. I'd still like to compare it to both wings being there though, so could you take the original unedited image and only change it to a circle, without adding transparency or otherwise altering it?

Cheers again, and sorry if this comes across as nitpicking! > )

Oh sorry about that, I didn't even notice I had removed it. Hopefully these will be better :)
