It would be a cruel irony if the web sucked for learning how to code for the internet though.
Haha, yea.. :P

Yea, so far been shown ways of editing/formatting a few things in both html and css, and it seems kinda tidier (to me) to do it in css.. (Also Morgan shouted at me when I showed her some html formatting :( )
Like, throw all the content in html and then all the content's properties (?) for sizing, positioning, etc, in css - also a little bit annoying having to misspell words like colour all the time, but I suppose I'll get used to it

They're going to show us a bit of javascript stuff tomorrow, we'll see how that goes lol

And not sure if you'll know of them or not, but some guys from "Interoute" were in to talk to us a bit about what they do, and apparently some company has or is going to be buying 40PB of storage from them lol, that's insane, I asked how much roughly, and they said some £15m

Hiya Erehk :)

Its hard to know where to start with this. I think firstly we need to determine if your browser is displaying the correct time.

Its very easy, just follow these simple steps...

• Copy this gold text:
new Date();

• Press [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + J

• Press [CTRL] + V and hit [ENTER]

You should see something like this...

We need to know if the time displayed in the console is correct.

I'm going to assume the time displayed in your console is correct and it maybe just that RS Linkify hasn't got the got the updated time from your browser yet, but it should happen after an hour has passed since daylight savings has changed.

If there is still a problem by the time you read this please let me know and I'll look deeper into it. I'll probably have more questions to ask too. I'm hoping this is only an issue for the first hour after the time change.

Thanks for the reply. :)

Following your instructions above, the console does display the correct time. Forum post time stamps are still showing a one-hour difference, but I've also noticed that Twitter has been acting a bit strange on me, so I'm thinking that it might just be something on my end that isn't wanting to update quite yet. When I'm on Twitter, it often shows '1h' next to tweets that were just posted. If I refresh, the '1h' will update to '30s' or '1m' or whatever it should be, but it's been bouncing back and forth, so who knows.

You let me know if Morgan the Meanie gets too big for her boots, I'm sure that between the two of us we can tame her :)

And that spelling is annoying at first, but you do get used to it after a while.

I'm still looking over some things and I have only spoken one RS Linkify user from America and his time and date is displaying correctly on the forums. The code that does the conversions hasn't changed at all for last few years (I'm almost too scared to fiddle with it) but I can't dismiss anything just yet.

I did have someone with a similar issue a long time ago, they fixed it by changing the settings in a different app or removed the app. But I don't remember if it was another extension or something they installed on their OS.

Something you can try if you wish, is temporarily disabling all other extensions and see if the problem persists. Checking both RSOF and twitter.

In two weeks time daylight savings ends for me. Even though I don't want your problem to go on that long, it will be interesting to see what happens.

One thing I'm going to do is change my time zone under windows (that's how I originally tested my time conversions for different countries) and emulate the change to daylight savings. However from the info you have given I suspect there something else at play here but you never know.

I'll keep tinkering and see what I can come up with. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of it :)

Hey Indy! :P

Got a couple requests, firstly a custom avatar:

And secondly a custom title, if it's possible; you say that under 20 characters should work, but that leaves me thinking whether above 20 is still possible? Because unfortunately, this is going to be 21 characters:

Blackwing
Kalut the Moon Shadow

If it doesn't work or would otherwise cause problems, then it's a shame but I can live without. :P

Cheers!

I think it was just to keep it all on one line, otherwise it'll start a new line:

(It did all fit on 1 line without the extra w's, was just showing)

Hiya Blackwing :)

Your title won't be a problem, you don't have to live without :)

As Amaethwr pointed out, the character limitation it's just to keep it on a single line. It will probably take a few a hours before your title kicks in (RS Linkify only checks for new titles once every few hours).

And here's your new avatar...

Ooo problem solved actually lol, turns out I had the time zone and geographical region stuff set incorrectly in my computer's date/time settings. Straightened that out and it looks like things are displaying like they should!

That's great news and thanks for keeping me updated :)

So glad I don't have to fiddle with my time & date code (I think it gave me a few grey hairs last time I worked on it).

I was just about to make post as I emulated some different regions with different date formatting as well and everything worked as it should. But I'm never entirely confident that is a true indication.

Anyway really glad you're back in sync with the rest of your region :)
