Didn't read the first page of posts - guilty.
This, sorry
I don't plan on joining the competition (I don't know enough about football to be able to predict scores) - I just keep up with this thread and try to understand stuff.

I saw how well Italy played, and it got me worried that Conte could do some damage with Chelsea next year.
But then I remembered how LVG did at a club after a successful international tournament.
I'll read through this entire thread soon, but who do we all think is actually going to win? It's difficult to call, because I can't see it being easy to beat the Italians, Germans or French. I can't see Spain winning it, they lack a degree of cutting edge without Villa/Torres/Mata/Costa, and can see them being dismantled by a good, direct team.
I also think the Poles/Croatians/Swiss have a reasonable shot at getting to the quarters. Belgium disappointed me in the first game. Tinpot manager who is wasting their incredible talent pool, same with England tbh.
I wanna say Germany or France will win it, but that seems like a get out of jail free card bet, choosing between the World Champions and the hosts. But oh well.

If the salt shaker is behind the pepper pot then the salt shaker is onside but if the pepper pot is behind the salt shaker then the salt shaker is offside.
Unless it is a throw in and then the salt shaker may be in front of the pepper pot and still be onside, also if the ball comes off any part of the vinegar jar while the salt shaker is in front of the pepper pot, then the salt shaker can be deemed onside.
Oh and socks must be pulled up at all times.

My favourites to win it are currently Germany, England and Belgium.
France will get eliminated as soon as they face a big team. France's 2 game really were 2 narrow escapes for them + they did not impress at all. I also think Spain won't last long. Against Czech Republic, the only reason they won was because of Iniesta. But I hope they prove me wrong today.
As for Italy and Belgium: Italy were playing against an experimental Belgium that for the first time ever had put Fellaini where De Bruyne was supposed to play. That clearly didn't work, and trust me, in Belgium we still haven't forgiven our manager for it. As soon as our manager subbed some players, Belgium were back in their normal formation and then they walked over Italy, but were too wasteful in front of Buffon.
Then also, the 2 Italy goals were caused by 2 defensive blunders. Good result for Italy, but against an experimental Belgium. The reason why I still consider Belgium one of the favourites is because despite our manager's massive screw up, we had 18 goal attempts against Italy. For comparison: France, Germany, Spain didn't have that many against opponents that are much weaker than Italy. Next game, against Ireland, I'm sure Belgium will play with their normal formation and then they'll walk over Ireland.
I think Germany are weaker than during the world cup, but still favourites to win it. In my opinion, England and Belgium have the best attacking potential. England demonstrated that in the first half against Russia and against Wales. With Carrasco, Hazard, Mertens, De Bruyne, I consider Belgium have to best attacking potential of the tournament.
Furthermore, the winner of Italy's/Belgium's group will face a much harder road to the final. This is why I consider Belgium's defeat a blessing in disguise and why I believe that Italy won't last long.
