I would love 2011scape but I don't think splitting the community further and stretching Jagex's resources thinner is a good idea

maybe if the 2011 game didn't receive any updates - but then people would just have to be content that Nex stuff would be BiS and that eventually everyone would have it (just give it a couple of years and the prices will tank, similar to most gwd stuff on osrs)

oh I misread that lmao I thought you were asking for another osrs just set in 2011 instead of 2007

and pretty much quit. Then about a year or so ago i came back to playing more , but rn I'm feeling like leaving again. I don't know, it just depends on which way the shit tide of mtx flows i suppose. Your choice jagex, not mine.

your membership date says you've sustained it since 2009 - the cynic in me says that as long as that remains the case they don't really care if you quit, since they have the 1-5% of mtx spinners to fund them in the event that someone (reasonable) like you quits. I bet that would even more than cover membership costs.

Either way, the joke's on Jagex since once the current spinners reach their exp goals, they'll stop buying spins - and with no new players coming to the game, the MTX cow's udders are going to dry up and Jagex is going to have to re-evaluate themselves.

The MTX gang will just make new accounts.

Maxing as fast as possible by spending real money has no up-side that I can identify.

*That* doesn't impress anyone either, or shouldn't. It costs a huge amount of RL money. And it completely bypasses the whole point of interacting with a game, which is to say, actually playing it.

I don't care how fast anyone else maxed anyway. My assumption would be that the faster they did it, the less fun they got from it.

If by chance anyone maxed really fast and had great fun doing it, then good on you. But I get all my achievements at the pace I feel like getting them, and feel pleased when I get there, whenever that is. Who cares how many other people did it before me?

I must say these days I see experience as rather irrelevant: overpowered training methods and promotions devalued experience related goals substantially. I mean just by regular play, doing the occasional warbands, the monthly god statues and dumping all my bonus experience into construction I made it from 13m (99) to 57m + 15m bonus experience. Without buying a single spin, only making actual flatpacks for the strange rocks. So basically this required barely any training of the actual skill.

Give it a bonus exp weekend and that will be enough for 120... Do I take pride in that? Not so much. Sure it will be a fun cape but there is little achievement to be had in it.

Instead I focus on non experience related goals: like I mentioned, completing the shattered hearts minigame, completing the 200 Menaphos miniquests (yes I am that crazy :p ), completing certain boss unique drops.
It was not gaining 120 slayer that I enjoyed most, it was the actual training towards it and the subsequent gathering of the souls. I enjoy gathering all lore and improving myself pvming wise.

It is these non experience related things that can not be bought and in my view can not be devalued as easily (though the completionist cape surely tries, but that's another story). Long story short: I really dislike MTX as do most people in game and have voiced my displeasement about it often, yet have found a myriad of goals that do not really suffer under its influence.
