Yeah 2 empty prefer slots. Having too many tasks reduces your chances of getting edimmus and lowers exp p/h.

Well thanks a lot for the tips, feeling a hell of a lot more confident about getting that pet anywhere close to 200m exp thanks to your help!

I don't see the reasoning behind tacking on Automatons as your fifth task. Not to mention Celestial dragons seem wildly mediocre unless you greatly value charms, which seems like overkill in the context of all the bonus experience weekends we get.

Abyssal demons are currently ~750 kills/h with a Noxious scythe and Deacon demon familiar with scrolls. They are higher combat/slayer and summoning/slayer, and provide much higher rates than Automatons. On top of this, the kills per hour will increase to 850 once the 2-H buffs go live.

Dark beasts are currently ~850 kills/h with a Noxious scythe, Steel titan with scrolls, and cannon. At a melee:ranged ratio of 3:1, Dark beasts provide only slightly less melee/slayer, but with higher summoning/slayer, a higher slayer rate, a higher melee rate, and some ranged experience.

I can see why one would Automatons over Dark beasts, but choosing both Automatons and Celestial dragons over Abyssal demons is seems... wrong.

Am I allowed to post my own spreadsheet?

It's because I actually couldn't figure out how to get the 750 kills p/h at abby demons you did. I used drygores and demon deacon with flurry ability and got 604 kills (well, at least more than a month ago since I bothered to try them.) Seems like the 2h abilities are powerful.

You have to see my spreadsheet to understand why I chose automations over abby demons. You could notice that I (apparently incorrectly) measured abby demons to be 604 kills p/h so it came out as less melee exp per hour than automations. If it is indeed 750 kills p/h then obviously replace automations with abyssal demons as that's more exp than automations.

I recorded 242 kills per hour with melee at celestial dragons, thus making it 4th or 5th best melee exp task depending on where the abyssal demons rank - so the melee exp alone is not exactly medicore.

With the current task list, the slayer to summoning exp ratio is 1:1.17 on dxpw without any other bonuses such as avatar for example.

Replacing automations with abby demons will add more to the summoning overkill, but the overkill is unavoidable. Moot point?

Anyway, I shall update abby demons to 750 kills p/h and fix the prefer list.

Keep in mind with the addition of adamant and rune dragons, you need 5 tasks minimum using Prefer + VIP tickets in order to break even on slayer points.

You might wanna try my method at Abyssal demons before you update your list. It'd be better for consistency within your rates as personal ability/slight tweaks in gear affect rates.

Is there still a Summoning overkill if you don't do Celestial dragons? (Out of curiosity.)

And in terms of raw melee rates,

Airut>Abyssal demons>Waterfiends>Dark beasts (cannoned at 2:1 melee:ranged)>Celestials (at your rate of 240/h)>Automatons, so yeah, 5th.

I haven't actually tried meleeing Celestials yet.

What do you think should be the 5th task if we were to avoid celestial dragon (despite the melee exp?)

Autos I guess?

I'd say Automatons over Celestial dragons if there's a Summoning surplus.

Automatons provide slightly slower rates, but slightly higher melee/slayer. They're also a much shorter task than Celestial dragons, which seems valuable for the worst of the five tasks.

Okay, slayer exp to summon ratio (with 750 kph for abby demons) on dxpw is 1.05:1.

Then you can add raf, ava, pink fizzes, summoning gear, etc. to bring it higher than slayer exp.

Also, the above is for 685 kills p/h @ dark beasts. I'm not sure if I should try cannon on dark beast. Do you know what % of the combat exp becomes ranged due to cannon on average?

Edit: I see it's about 33%
