And its a shame. Because Jagex decisions are influenced so much by reddit. But reddit is literally an echo chamber of endgame players so the agenda will always bend favorably to people asking for certain types of updates. The game is riddled with hundreds of micro issues that discourage new players from enjoying the game. We as veterans are extremely de-sensitized from how severe this is, but it absolutely is an issue. To add, any suggestions that propose to improve this game in a beginner friendly way will be obliterated with downvotes.
"Each developer working for new players is one less developer working for our next endgame content". Its always the same narrative.
Jagex seriously needs to come up with a way to let newer players (any non-maxed player imho) have a voice in the community. Give them a platform where they can call out issues in their gameplay that veterans and Jagex would miss. A place where their goals are valid, and not overshadowed by completionists.
Jagex needs more control over their marketing and stop normalizing 120s, completion and other insane goals. Normalize 80s and 99s again. Fix and modernize content in the mid-high level ranges that obviously don't feel like a 2020 game. Completion and max were once novelties. Stop gating rates and content viability behind anything more than a 99. Narrow the gap. Make being a new account valid again.
