It's been a while since I did fishvention. Remind me, what's the best way to get furnace 3 again? And roughly how rare is it? As for the combos honed5/furn2 or furn3/honed4... Has anyone here managed to obtain them, or are they impractically rare?

Honed4/Furn2 and Honed5/Furn1 are the best I have managed - these are from 5xSharp.
To get Honed4/Furn2 x 2 and one of the other took a LOT of attempts. I did not note it down...but it would have been somewhere between 75 and 100 in total.
There were a couple of pure Honed5 in that lot as well, and a lot of Honed3/Furn2

As for Furn3 - I am yet to see it. That was after around 25 shots using 5xdragonfire components.
I am not sure how well others have done getting Furn3.

Probably safe to say that Furnace 3 isn't worth trying to get if it's that rare of a perk rank to get. Better off with just having Honed 5 and Furnace 2, if you have Honed 5.

After seeing this I tried myself as well and within 100 gizmos got
3: Honed4/Furn2
3: Honed4/Furn1
4: Honed5.
Rest ranging from Honed3s and Honed4 alone to H3+F1(2) combos.

Did all 5 Sharp.
