I have no idea what to put on defenders, or shields for that matter.

I don't do any tank roles, aside from nt at Yakamaru, so if anything I use my defenders as 'something to use defensives with' rather than 'something to use dual weild abilities with' if that makes sense.

I have:

Imp3Devo2 + Biting 2 Venomblood on my tops

ClearHeaded2Reflexes + Absorbative 3 on my legs

I opted out of crackling because for what I do - it's more of an inconvenience than what it is worth.

My shields have nothing of any use on them, some form of random turtling/bulwark probably, and I have yet to augment my defender set.

My Drygores do not have Aftershock on them (yet, waiting for the hype to die down), I don't use ascensions and my seismics don't have aftershock either.

Turtling > bulwark, cause you're comparing 3 seconds of 100% deflection vs 2.8 (?) seconds of 50% deflection.
If you're dice deeps, say usingn defender for hardmoding, definitely precise5 on the offhand.
If you're using defender for tankering, cause you can soul split under barricade, turtling.

Turtling is a FLAT second per rank, not percentage increase. 7s defender + 3s = 10s which is enough for Intercept tanking, where you cade/devo, intercept, and can eat the team's damage while they soul split. or you cade and ss.

It's the classic tragedy of people hearing "x is cheaper!!!!" and buying it up far beyond the point where it becomes more expensive.

i have turtling 3 on achto, bulwark 3 on t90, absorb2+mobile on ss, precise 5 on defenders.
my tect legs has clear2+reflexes which i can replace with turtling3+venom if i want.

i'd say get precise on defenders but if you really only use them as a shield swap turtling 3 is probably your best option.

no clue what you'd put on your shields lol. i'd go with bulwark on t90 either way.

For my DPS tops, I'm putting some combo of devo and impatient (if I ever get something with both on them!), and biting 2 (eventually 3).
DPS Bottoms, will try for some combo of crackling3/venomblood, and second perk absorb or lucky.

Few questions.. biting says it can be obtained with direct comps, but has anyone actually ever gotten that? And does anyone know the rarity of getting crackling 3 with venomblood, or even absorb with venomblood? Don't want to waste time on korai swords for pest comps just to waste them.

Using aftershock and precise5 on off hands. Shields have bulwark on them because I just use them as a switch for cade.

I'm 1/10 so far for Biting2/Venomblood using 3 direct and 2 healthy. I'm not doing much hunting for direct comps specifically so it'll take a while before I get more combos for the rest of my gear. Haven't bothered to gather pestiferous comps so I'm not sure if those would bump my chances at all.

Also 2/10 for Biting 2/Committed using the same recipe above but I threw them out.

For Devoted 2(3)/Impatient 3 combo has anybody had any realistic luck with them before 120? Or or is it better to get some Zaros Comps and use Impatient 3 solo for now?

Complementing the previous post, firstly I'd recommend getting absorbative 3 instead of lucky 5 (the average damage reductions are 3% and 2.5% respectively, and lucky perk loves trolling you and activating when you resonance - but I heard that's getting fixed).

As for Crackling 3 + Venomblood. There isn't that much information on it, but it's not horribly rare. A few friends of mine got it in under 3 tries, but I'd estimate it as a 20%-25% chance. However, I don't recommend you to get pestiferous components from Korasi Swords. The chance of getting them is pretty low (I got none from 7 swords and gave up), and it's annoying to keep making augmentors for them. If you have spare thalers (or don't mind afk'ing some Pest Control), best option would be disassembling void tops, which always give 2 pestiferous components.

Also, I got devoted 2 + impatient 3 from 5x zammy components because I still hope for the very rare dev 3 + imp 3. However, dev 2 + imp 3 is more common if using 4x zammy + 1x zaros or 3x zammt + 2x zaros.

Can someone clarify something for me...

SCENARIO If I am using Superior Ports armour and a Scythe, and I want to improve my dps.
Which would increase my dps more?

1. Change ports gear to T90 power armour (all no augs)
...OR...
2. Add 'precise5' to the Scythe.

Alternative question...what is the dps improvement going from Superior ports to T90 power?

Precise 5 is 6.25% dps boost
Ports -> T90 is 8.7% if i remember correctly


On a side note, if you plan to augment only your weapon and not your armor then Precise3/4/5+ Eq 2 is more of a dps boost than Precise 5.
You can get Precise3+Eq 2 on 1 gizmo fairly commonly with 5 direct. Precise 4+ Eq 2 is pretty rare with 5 direct and Precise 5+ eq 2 is very rare with 4 direct and 1 arma.
I would definitely get precise3+Eq2 right now if you only plan on augmenting your weapon for now since it is a better dps boost than Precise 5, and is dirt cheap so if you ever decide to get biting on your armor you can just take it off your weapon without a care and get precise 5 at that point

Therefore if money is your issue I would spend literally 5k and put precise 3 eq 2 on your weapon and then get T90, or T80 if you are cheap. Thats a solid ~15% dps boost right there
