Ha, very nice! I used to do something similar with Earth Warriors, would kill a few on the way to Bork everyday until I got the scroll. :)

I know all the scrolls are like reallllllyyyy rare, but this is ridiculous, been killing monsters for ages and i've never got a champ scroll, this is the main reason why i'm still not comped!

If you were to recommend one to go for first, which would it be?

I'd probably go cannon Ghouls for scroll or kill skeletons manually under lumby catacombs for first scroll, or perhaps kill imps and lesser demons at same with cannon in karamja resource dungeon for douple chance =) Homeworld 86 :P

Pick something easy/afkable for your first.

Aberrant Spectres can be cannoned in Polly dungeon.
Ghasts can be cannoned near Canifis.
Lesser demons/imps can be cannoned in the Karamja resource dungeon.
Jogres near Castle Wars.
Hill Giants in Edgeville resource dungeon.
Hobgoblins in Hobgoblin mine (wilderness).
Earth warriors in Edgeville dungeon (wilderness).

Other than the 2 wilderness locations, you can just set up royale cannon with revolution on and return every 30-40 seconds to sip a super restore, fill cannon or use a familiar special.

If its the wildy mine, is there a good set up incase a pker suddenly appears? im a bit wary :P

you're a fool if you think it's guaranteed in 5 hours. It's a 1 in 5K drop ratio can be 5 times longer for some, 100 times longer for some and 10 kills for some.
