Things like Maul of Omens, Raptor outfit, etc.
The Maul of Omens, requiring me to not only survive, but also get to maul the hardest rotation of Hardmode Vorago which is probably like one of the hardest PvM related things in the game seems just so out of question for a person that can barely do normal GWD properly. A while ago I considered leeching that thing, but even that turned out to be so complicated that I decided against it to save my nerves. Turned out that maul is best suitable for crushing dreams.
What comes to the Raptor outfit, if it was a one time unlock I could very slightly consider it. But as it is, the amount of intensive combat and supplies not only getting it, but later on maintaining it requires is mindless to me. And to be exact, the outfit isn't even that desirable to me right now, but if I had Trimmed Comp it would be due to the way it looks with it. Considering I'll never get Trim, I'm not too concerned over that outfit.

Teamsplit is painful even if you aren't leeching, and tbh, most leech services would be rather patient with you.

That being said, my question was more geared towards why not try to get into PvM and such? You'll never get better at it if you don't, and opens up the door to fancy stuff :p - Sure some things seem hard but once you start trying, things start to become less of a mountain and more of speedbump.

This is an interesting question, as I have considered it before.
The real issues, however, are my problems with reacting and paying attention, along with my general attitude/personality which may not be the most suitable for higher end PvM, so I have never really even tried to get into it.
I'm simply unsure whether I would be able to enjoy it enough for it to be worth the effort, especially considering that for me it would be quite a bit of effort.

For some people they're so defeatist when it comes to things they normally won't do, it affects how they view similar things.

Going into say a new boss already with the mindset its going to be intensive/hard/you're going to fail is only going to make it harder

Typically patience is a big helper, rather than wanting that instant gratification with little to input (spending supplies, learning etc)

If it really is too hard to do, I'll just accept it for now, reset take a breather and come back in the future

I'm an exceptionally stubborn person and I rarely change my mind when I have decided something, so that combined with my general dislike of intensive combat may very well be the biggest obstacle when it comes to PvM for me.
The fact I'm very cheap and don't like spending money on supplies doesn't help either.
