First thing that comes to mind, one person can't go on a spamming rampage on a "Count To x Before ..." thread. Whereas on a max post count thread, you can just spam 3 pages of your name. That's, currently, the ONLY thing working in favour of the counting threads. Beyond this, they're just unnecessary and about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

The idea of those threads is fun though the max post count threads are just spam. That should be something else in favour of them too.
