Publicity isn't near as important as working toward a better game play experience for players. But that's just my opinion.
I definitely will not be entering. Facebook isn't the website for me, nor is it secure enough to log into Runescape with.

There is absolutely no way i am linking facebook to runescape no matter what rewards i have potential in earning. It opens up and encourages the runescape community to share personal information and break down the walls of privacy. It increases the likely hood of people gaining access to personal details for inappropriate use contrary to your own rules Asking for or providing contact information such as full names, ages, postal or email addresses, telephone numbers... which is so easy to gain from facebook.
In short i see the introduction of facebook to runescape as a threat to the security that i currently enjoy.

If you don't like the idea, or the competition itself, then just don't post at all. This topic is not a place for discussing the Facebook association. Move to a different topic suitable for debates like that, if you wish to make a change. :/

Couldn't sleep last night was the exclusive prize of a J Mods autograph that did this. They must think highly of themselves..WHO.. .And now the end is near its time to raise the final curtain.

Wish this post was on the first page as it's seems to be the only way to get an answer from Jagex nowadays.. even then any negative feedback will probably get removed.
Right, I completely understand and approve of making the game more popular providing that they prioritize the quality of the game over that aspect. I mean who wants a half decent mainstream game with tons of members over an extremely good game that's a little less mainstream and a little less members? Jagex are putting money into useless crap right now instead of looking at what matters about the game (getting rid of botters, improving updates, GETTING IN TOUCH WITH THE COMMUNITY!).
There is no way of contacting any Jagex member which is why WoW seems to be a much more user-friendly game than RuneScape (or RS as it's now called). I'm happy that there are investors into RuneScape and all but it really seems like they are taking over all the good parts of the game and replacing it with stuff that might make them a few thousand more pounds/dollars; which resorted to a ton of people leaving RuneScape (especially in late 07) and making Jagex lose a lot more cash.
The prizes....... WOW! It's as if Jagex are convincing us to think more about realistic objects instead of the actual game! Would you rather have a few months free membership to properly enjoy the game with and possibly convince a free to play (or new) member to actually buy membership or would you rather have a mouse mat or laptop skin... It's not like it's going to make you want to play RuneScape more by getting a new mouse mat seriously... For the amount of money Jagex makes the prizes are so incredibly cheap! I misread and thought they said a new laptop and thought "Wow they've stepped up their game for once." But no..
Nevermind, quantity over quality is all that matters clearly. Not participating.
P.S. I'm curious to see if my post gets removed for saying this http://***.facebook.***/RuneScape if it gets removed then they are hypocrites.
