I Would fully support this idea and would love to see it happen! I currently use skype to communicate with most friends but it could be unstable to some who abuse. Being said, I'd like to see Jagex release some sort of voice chat that is safe and available for everyone to use! Thanks, I'l say it again, I would love to see this happen!

What a lot of you people don't understand is, it won't be "free-for-all" voice chat (Everyone at the GE won't be talking) It will most likely be an option to right click someone on your friends list, click Voice Chat, and anything goes.
As for the offensive language goes - it would take massive amounts of space to record everyone, and then if a report comes in a Jagex mod would have to listen to it? Highly doubtful (won't happen). It would probably have a warning screen saying "Anything Goes, Voice Chat at your own risk" and if a word offends you, you probably shouldn't use it.
Anyways, I use Ventrilo for other games such as Team Fortress 2.

you realize their are 4 pages of almost full compliments dont you? your the only "negative voice" which in itself is your right, but notice the complimenting voices dont down those that dont use voice chats, the same concept applies to you.

This would be a very good idea if this was added to the game
its perfect for chatting with friends, and doing stuff together in game like dagganoth kings and godwars where text isnt the best way of communication due to having to concentrate on what you are doing so you dont die and be able to help team mates.
also its perfect for wars and pvp for clans, since some people go around ddosing teamspeak and vent servers making this difficult during wars and pk trips.
another upside is that when im playing on runescape and im on voice chat i usualy go on *** Messenger and it causes my game to freeze like crazy making it hard to play.

Seems like you've just been reading my mind, Jagex!
I have to turn Skype chat off unfortunately when I play my beloved Barbarian Assault due to [computer] lag, and I was hoping that an embedded solution would be superior, but RS seems to take the WoW path on this!
I just talk with a couple of real-life friends, but we talk a *lot* about the game, and talk about it most of the time when we're playing it. Heck, my latest membership sign-up was due to peer pressure in our Skype chats but I definitely haven't regretted spending the meager £6 you asked for! ;)
So for me, an embedded voice chat feature would be excellent as we mostly talk when playing RuneScape anyway, and the benefits for clans are simply out of this world I believe! This would be providing that the program would use less resources than RS and Skype combined.
I don't have a very strong PC, you see, like a lot of people unfortunately who are attracted to this game due to this. I personally played this on-and-off for years and then played WoW for a couple of months, but RuneScape is too awesome to pass up. :) Thanks for your great work Jagex!

I understand that Wicked, but I'm still sticking to my ideal. This isn't the first time Jagex has ignored their own problems in the game to make a quick buck. If I'm seen as a "negative voice" here, it is only because I will not ignore those problems like everyone else is apparently programmed to.
