while this can be useful for clans and boss hunters(most likely nex to tell what to do in case u forget about the phase u are), i believe this update will bring a very seriours issue back:
LAG; or delay, high ping, wathever you call it
we already have some problems with lags in the current servers, and if we add a voice chat system, this can get much worse. probably it will have their own servers, but making the current servers work 110% is a must if there is something like that will be added.
i know our internet connection plays a role on this too, but it's useless if we upgrade your conection and the server remain poor in quality.

on a site note: perhaps this also could lead to more ppl dating inside the game, we never know.

I think voice chat is good as it helps with all aspects of the game e.g. monster hunting, clan or team pking and just chat in general. But in order for it to work it would need to not affect lag in the game and maybe even add it to the tabs like the inventory, or an extension of clan chat.

I'm kinda shocked Jagex is asking WHY people use it.
Do they not use it at all? Do they not play other games? Every year I see Jagex slowly conforming to updates that is normal for other online games for the last several years.
Using voice servers to talk has been going on since the first year of Runescape. It creates more community atmosphere. Create better interactions with people. Organize events better. Especially when it comes to boss killing or wilderness events, you'd be so much more organized through the voice server rather than trying to type it out to everyone. I mean the reasons are endless why voice servers are used in gaming. It just makes online gaming better.
Try having a clan war another clan in CWA. One clan using a voice server, and another not. Observe the massive difference in organization.
