ppl who have a mic built into their laptops or comps will have to buy a mic them ones arent designed for voice chat and thus are to put it lightly pathetic
I personally use a voice chatting program when playing runescape or other applications with friends and such however, I do not feel that having a voice option for runescape is a good idea to integrate into the game as it could be a potentially dangerous tool. With typing at the very least I have the option to have a chat filter to block out any vulgar words if I choose not to see them but, with a voice option it is not really possible to mute bad words whether we want to hear them or not. If voice chat is going to be integrated in the future, there should be an option on who we choose to voice chat with so it would be out of the player's own choice plus there will not be as much interference if two people just want to talk without listenting to other players conversations (less distractions in other words).
I"m still waiting for this it could really stop phising by ALOT because the "hacker" wont tell you oh go on skype so we can talk now people can say no we can talk on runescape and it would be harder for phishers to get accounts because they cant send links through runescape.
that would be sweet i use skype and ventrillo. it makes it easier because you dont need to type and when bossing you only need 1 hand most of the time and you can think straighter faster reasponds etc. please add this into the game lol
This does sound like a good idea, for the older players of Runescape. I would be a little concerned for the younger players, I believe an age requirement would be needed to use the in-game voice chat set-up.
Other then that I believe it's a great idea.
guys dont stress about a chat filter and stuff because like any great company jagex knows that a perfect chat would be best used in a clan or friends chat
I've never tried voice chat, and personally, I think it would take away from the game. I don't have any problem with it, no, but I like how runescape uses words and typed messages to respond to others. It shows very clear definition of who's speaking, and I'm so used to seeing words on the screen, it gives me that runescape feeling. Not all that, but I think that runescape is more fit for text, rather then voice. Neat idea, but, I like my typing!
