Since I'm not that good with PC terms, let me ask this way:

1. My computer is an "ABS Summoner - Ryzen 5 3600 - Radeon Rx 590 - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 512GB SSD - Gaming Desktop PC"

2. My monitor is a "ViewSonic VX3216-SCMH-W 32 inch 1080p 1800R curved monitor with dual speakers HDMI DVI and VGA"

3. This is a "windows 10 home 64-bit"

4. The system shows 16.0 GB of physical memory(RAM) with 12.6 GB presently available; and it shows 18.3 GB of virtual memory with 11.6 GB presently available.

5. The Radeon Rx 590 graphics card shows it is up to date as of this morning.

Will my computer support these new changes mentioned in this thread?

A short and sweet simple answer to your questions.
Yes.
Your system will be able to play Runescape after the changes are made to the game's core engine.
You should have literally zero issue playing

Any chance these changes are going to help the issue with the game client overheating laptops?

My laptop will accept them. It's only just over 2 years old. I bought a "gaming" laptop at the start of the pandemic. That was a mistake. I have all effects off and graphics on bare minimum and I still have to have a fan blow directly on it in the summer time or it'll shut down. Unless I close the client. Nothing else causes it. I've read it's a fairly common problem and the answer is to under volt it but I have not had time to figure out how to do that.

I miss the browser game days which is why I started the game to begin with. :) (I understand why they are gone. I just miss them lol)

Your issue could be related to particular conflicts within your base system settings on that laptop. Keep in mind, when the auto setup runs when you first launch the game, it tries to match the "recommended" settings (which are usually stock default) of your hardware's capacity...or meet it 50%. I will say this, certain aspects of the game can cause your GPU to work harder trying to display various aspects of the game...and one of the biggest issues that I have found while playing on my laptop is that if you have your system laying flat and not propped up, the section of where your GPU is will become incredibly hot, and the heat sink inside your laptop (if it even has one...shocking right?) won't be able to keep up, and the same goes for your fan. Blowing air on it with a fan will not do you any justice as the flow of air IN to regulate your system should be handled by the CPU fan...as well as the outflow of hot air. I would say take apart your laptop's backing, and give it a good cleaning, and for SURE check around ALL ventilation holes, especially around your fan and heat registers, adjust your GPU's power utilizations as well, and switch your system power consumption through its Power Plan to Max Performance.
