Welcome and thank you for introducing yourself to the community. Mod Hooli said :
With the team being up to strength with my arrival, we’re going to take a little time to assess our next steps. How might we better balance our priorities? How do we put more time into joining your conversations? How can we do even better at representing your discussions to the studio?
I think these are important questions. The RuneScape community is scattered across many parts of the Internet, including these forums, Twitter, Reddit, Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, Discord, fansites, etc. Finding the right balance in terms of allocating staff and contractor time among them is a delicate optimization problem. If you have statistics to guide your decision, I encourage you to share that data and discuss your thought process with the community.

I am all for spending more time on these forums, but it is undeniable that the number of players here is far smaller than the number on other platforms. However, I also think the quality of conversation here is superior to that on alternate platforms, which is an argument for spending a disproportionate amount of time on the forums.

Where possible, I think it's valuable for JMods to comment on discussions to indicate that they have read them, even if the JMod doesn't have anything specific to add or reveal at that time. People very much appreciate even short comments that demonstrate Jagex has looked at their feedback.

Hello and welcome, Mod Hooli! :)

As far as interacting with the RS community, I definitely agree with what others have posted regarding the RSOF vs. third-party social media platforms. While it's certainly understandable that Jagex would want to make use of these social media sites to communicate with current and former players, that is no reason to neglect the RSOF or treat them as an afterthought.

I have the RuneScape Facebook page liked, but I rarely go there. I don't use any other third-party platform. I practice social media distancing. :p When I want to discuss RS, I come here.

I also enjoyed the monthly BTS videos. Even when the featured upcoming content ended up being delayed, they were still something to look forward to.

Good luck and happy 'Scaping!

"Anyway, enough waffling"

I agree waffle about sums it up as it is the sort of thing they all say yet personally all I've seen over the years is less and less engagement despite promises of more and more. However whenever I visit the runescape sub reddit there seems to be regular jmod replies to topics regarding bugs, suggestions and just content in general and if not direct replies topics often contain links where jmods have responded on twitter. Can't say I've seen man linked back to the forums in a long time.

In regards to the forums I would suggest you as a team discuss why people may prefer posting on other sites and then try and use those answers to try and improve the forums

Oh and really I'd have expected at least one more post by you as a minimum on this thread the same day it was posted, but you were probably too busy right.

Hi Hooli,

I just watched the stream that you were on 5 days ago and I wanted to welcome you and wish you success in your new position. :)

If I were ever to work at Jagex, a community management position is exactly where I would want to be. Seems like a very fast paced and interconnected position within the studio.

I might have missed you already answering this, but what province were you living in when you were in Canada?

Mod Hooli, may you make a follow-up what happened to the golden uniforms for Local Mods?

I know you are new, but if you can make that happen - you're popularity rating here in RSOF will shoot off the roof ;)
