When I'm skilling, I always look to see what is the fastest way to train the skill. However, if the method is expensive, I would rather train in a way that would be profitable. :)

5. Do you train skills with efficiency or profit in mind?
Runecrafted for a majority of my money prior to trade limit and Grand Exchange updates.
Depends on the skill I am training :P My rule of thumb when leveling up a skill that requires a vast amount of money is:
"Throw enough money at the skill and the skill will level; if the skill does not level, throw more money at it till it does level *aka smithing*"

Profit, always. My route to 99 smithing consisted partly of smelting 250k iron ores and selling back the bars. 10k xp an hour? Yeah, not the most efficient.

A little bit of both to be honnest, but that can differ. But for the most of it I rather look for a way to train it efficiënt, with as little lose as possible.
