@J Seinfeld, we've already addressed your question as best as we could. It'll happen when it does. Nick and I aren't obsessively asking for updates, but last I heard, which was a few weeks back is that the intention is still to give us JMod accounts with further tasks, but there's little that we can do at the moment to assist Jagex in expiditing the process. But not having a gold crown isn't the end of the world for me.

When there's a relevant update, we'll provide one. Community Manager for Jagex

You're comically missing the point, as usual.

A year ago this Mod Cam fellow posted a bombastic thread (this one) proclaiming that "Keywords" were now here and they were new JMods. The less unintelligent among us questioned what the hell that meant exactly.

It was swiftly learned that Jagex had essentially outsourced Forum Mod duties to a third party contractor. So then we began wondering when you guys would become JMods proper, because who doesn't love interacting with Jagex staff members?

Only...you're not actually JMods. You're...glorified FMods. With purple backgrounds. With unclear duties. :|


I don't care if you find my questioning this irritating. My point here is that Jagex is continuing to ignore their player base. They cannot be bothered to fix (or remove) the forums in-house so they contract you guys to...be FMods. I don't think you guys know just how non-transparent your functions are, likely because you figure that we're all somehow watching you over your shoulder whenever you're clocked in.


In other words, Mod Cam pissed down our collective backs and told us that it was raining. Wonderful.




So excuse my acerbic tone. It's not you two personally that I have a problem with but rather your roles.

I feel like we've been quite clear on our duties. I'm not sure what further clarification that you need as it was stated months ago what we actually do by the other LMods. But no, we're not annoyed with your questions.

We facilitate communication between the FMods & Jagex, we escalate various technical and trend issues and suggestions/feedback taken from the forums, or any other issues that may need attention from specific members/departments within Jagex.. We're also tasked with reporting phishing pages and websites on various social platforms. In addition to this, yes we do forum moderation as well and try to engage with the players. We also assist players through Jagex's community mailbox, and any other smaller tasks that they may want us to assist with. The only real thing that not having a JMod account holds us back from us handling the Forum Moderation Review reports and ban appeals. It might be worth mentioning that all of this is done on a part-time basis.

I'm sorry if you feel as though our positions are worthless or unjustified, and that we're simply "glorified FMods" or don't consider us part of the Jagex team. You're free to think whatever you want.

Don't get me wrong, I'm always open to taking more tasks. For example, both Nick and I have a background in community management, and with some of our other engagements, we handle tasks such as content creation, photoshopping, etc. We've recently passed along a fairly long list of tasks that we'd be happy to assist the community management team with, which is currently being looked into by those above us. If there's any noteworthy developments, we'll share them.

I am not sure if you are aware or not, but Mod Lee has recently shared with his Twitter followers that is he leaving Jagex at the end of this month. As we all know, he has been the one taking care of the Forum Moderation Review sticky you mentioned above. Since the beginning, the intention was to have you and Nick (and any other CM) take care of FMR. I understand that it hasn't been completed yet and I am not specifically asking about that. I have thoroughly read your replies regarding getting you J-Mod accounts so I'm well notified.

Now that Mod Lee is departing Jagex on August 31st, 2019, do you have an idea on who is going to take over FMR while you guys receive your J-Mod accounts? Mod Lee was also in charge of the "Get HLF Access Here!" sticky so that's another task that will be left unattended. Basically, what I am trying to ask is, may you please try your best to find out who is going to take on his duties once he leaves?

Hey Wynd!

I've reached out to Mod Poerkie, our main point of contact about this, as the FMods were wondering as well. I should get an answer by tomorrow! Ideally, it would be us LMods, but we'll wait and see.

I'm thinking at least in the interim, it'd be Mod Meadows, but that's just my own speculation.
