@Iron
I'm happy that I learned all those lessons here while I was a kid, and I could put the experience I've got here into real life when I really needed it.
@Cloud
I've actually worked hard for my wealth, but the hardest part was when I had to get my first few mils to get it started. I've never scammed anyone, I've never tried to trick. I've just followed my mind and it was saying that buying and selling this thing or another thing would make some profit and so on. Merchanting was hard back then, but it was possible in 'day trading' means. That means, you could've bought some item for let's say 1.6m and sold it for 1.65m and that's how I was making my money. There was always a gap between buying and selling and I used it to my advantage. Now I can't really predict anything as merchanting clans are overtaking the situations. Also, not everyone is able of merchanting as they most of the people don't really understand what it is and when do you do it. Do not even think that it's easy. It's only easy when you're in a merch clan, back then I was only earning from 1 to 5m a day, while spending from 6-10 hours on this thing. There were losses and gains, and gains overhelmed losses, therefore I had profit. Also prices didn't go up, just because the demand went up by 3x (in case of merch clans scenarios) and vice versa. I just hope you all understand the meaning of this update and how it will affect economy of this game. It will only delete monopolies, which people should hate, therefore I assume that those who say NO are actually those people who understand the effects that will imply upon their own little merchanting games that they're playing here.

Children who grow up in prison likely cannot cope in the real world. I feel this is an exaggerated metaphor for the players who joined after 2007; they simply don't know how to play without the safe Wilderness. There are other ways of making money/doing quests/doing clue scrolls. They just need to grow up and find them.

I'm all happy for this, been playing since 05. I mean I understand a lot of people's concerns for the old wilderness. But the idea was that it was always meant to be dangerous, you went it on your own accord, not because you had to. Even now, if you have to, it's being changed.
My only concern would be the removal of the upper and lower limits of items. Without those, item prices will be shot to hell, they'll change considerably, it was always good knowing how much something was worth. If anything, those upper and lower limits should be kept, solely because it'll help stabilise item prices so that when this update does happen. a bgs that could be at 20m at the time suddenly sky-rockets to 50m because some people who own them find some poor desperate person with the disposable income to spend, who then sells it on for 51m to make a profit. In short... KEEP THE LIMITS ON ITEM PRICES UNLESS YOU WANT THE ECONOMY TO GO TO HELL!

This is the best poll in runescape history. I am a 7 year scaper (which is not reflected by my level) and since the Wilderness and Free Trade were removed the primary purpose of the game was removed.
Since I started playing I have had three goals:
Questing
PKing
Cash Flow
The last two were severly restricted when the Wilderness and Free Trade were removed. When they were removed I stopped playing reguarly because well, the game wasnt fun. When PVP worlds came out I tried them out but you couldnt match the fun and intesity of the real wilderness.
Free Trade is something that is simply neccesary for the game to be and affective economic model. If you restrict it than it makes the ability to make money significantly harder. Also it will make retiring from runescape a much more fun a experience. I truly miss the parades of people following one high level player saying "Quiting Runescape Giving Away 50mil"
This is why I am going to and encourage every one to vote yes.

Wilderness is great because I liked the old way where theres a place not just a whole world for it.

The day runescape deleted the wildiness for what it used tobe was the day they lost hundreds of thousands of players. literally. im not exagerating its a fact. i think the pking community is much larger than the 'clue scroll' community. This is a game that is fun if you wantsomething to challenge your mind all you 30 year olds try buying a nintendo DS brainstorm.
i was 13 when they took wildi away, will be good to seee it back again. Do you know how manyplayers play private servers so they can pk in the old days? from a business prospective too this is the right choice for jagex.
