I strongly disagree. I too have been playing for a long time.. since '04 I believe.
I think the old days of Runescape were the best.
I never played another game that had *Trade Limits* and because of that update in '07 I hadn't played in years.
Because of the update many players are coming back who quit because of this.
I did notice however, a majority of wealthy players picked "Yes" because it enables us to build our fortune at a greater rate.
Maybe it is somewhat cruel to be looking out for the Rich rather than the poor, but with free trade who's to say some of the wealthy players won't help contribute money to newer, less fortunate players?
Another way to look at it is this:
-You can give your close friends items worth MORE than a measly 10k.
-You can help out people who have been wanting to buy something for a long time, but never had the money to do so.
-And lastly, it makes it easier to make money.
As for PKing, everybody needs to feel awesome every once in a while, :p and the thrill of being able to lose your items to the person your fighting while having a chance to get their items is more than enough to bring old players back.
Maybe clue scrolling might be harder, and some complain they'll die and lose their items and whatnot.
My answer is this:
-If you don't want to lose 400m worth of items and equipment, don't bring it.
Maybe Jagex should have a "Toggle PvP" Option for players who do not wish to be disturbed, that's entirely up to them.
