i got scammed- the trick of swsapping magic logs (noted) with willow lowgs (noted)
at the time, they were identicle..and i pressed accept on both windows quickly whithout noticing. and only a little while later did i notice
i learned from that very quickly. Not only a game skill, but a real life skill- patience and ALWAYS double check. also... if it looks too good to be true, the chances are : it is.
When i started runescape, you started with 25gp and had to find everything yourself. Sure, it took a bit of effort to get going, but that added to the challenge and make it even more fun.
Now, new players are expected to be shown how to do everything, which in my opinion, ruins the game- it means the player is just in the backseat, being driven by the instructions, rather than doing it themselves.
sure, luring, scamming etc will come back- which in a way i think is good. It means its more like real-life. Not everyone is happy friendly bunnies, we have to watch out. I have never broken any rules but i didn't see a problem with other people wasting their money buying rs gold with real money. Sure, there were botters who went to arbury in varrock and bought all the death and chaos runes, which was a pain for low level pkers (or non-members) but we now have infinity stores of them (unless they have been removed, havn't checked in a while). So, that isn;t a problem. And to the yew botters- ok, maybe a pain... but you compete with real players now instead of botters.
which reminds me of the yew long bow trade.
yew logs were cheap enough to buy them and flax, fletch them and be able to high alch them for a profit. To me, that was a wonderful age of runescape. I would very much like to see the return of that.
ok, so i hae noticed aswell- the votes are always 90/8/2 which i thought was dodgy...i don't know how many people are really voting for that and we have to take their word on it.
