Hi read this i've pretty much summed up the vote
but let me break down the vote also.
90% - 89% non idiotic people (although always some <****;
, 1% want RWT back. RWT is still hear this minute there are still thousands of bots running around except this time, it became more personal and less recognizable. People pay botters or gold farmers (TWC Players) to log on their accounts and get money even faster than the farmers of the day (Yew cutters, flax...) so RWT wasn't reduced, just forced the sites to warp how they RWT to include personal details and risk account losses (Win?).
8% -7% Dumb noobs who got scammed. Let's face it, the game has become sooo much idiot proof over these last years. Jagex have spoon fed information to try and prevent people from dying, losing there money/items. Scamming, and merchanting (properly) was a good way to "toughen" up players, if you got scammed you quit or learned from it, If you sold items for too little you became more careful and researched in future. Pretty much a harsh but simple way to filter out NOOBS from the game.

Petition was before, now it's referendum
You're right, that noone has to follow that, what was requested at petition, but if Referendum was announced - option which will win, will be achieved.

SCAMMING:
First, All lessons are learned best first-handed.
I spent two weeks getting 80(83 with pot) hunter for dragon implings, at this time they were going for 500k each. Two weeks after i got it, i made 22m from catching them & bought a santa hat.
While standing at the GE a guy asked if i wanted to join his clan, it was really big, blah..blah..blah.. Anyways he told me about the fourms on a website & to sign in with my username & ********. I did. I
In about 5 minutes within logging out i tried to log back on. It said my account was alrdy logged on, i got on a diff acc. & started talking to my account. They were in a bounty hunter world. I quickly hopped, saw my character go in with my hat. Then i realized what had happened, I'd been key logged for my santa hat, that i spent 2 weeks working to get.
SUMMARY:
GOT SCAMMED > LEARNED FROM IT
Lures:
GET LURED > LEARN FROM IT
If your stupid enough like me, to get scammed, dont cry about it, learn from it. Check trade windows on the 2nd trade screen. It might save you a few mill, maybe more.
CLUES:
I hear all you guys crying about how hard clues are... tbh revs are a more pain in the (uknow) then pkers, you see a white dot, log out. You see a yellow dot... oh wait all NPCs are yellow dots, so before you know it, your getting poisoned for 8.5hp (idk how thats possible) teleblocked, and frozen. (idk how thats possible either) Man what spell book are those revs on? TB & Ancients? I need to get me that book.
Anyways, I can't wait for the Old Runescape to return

People have two choices when they get scammed/key logged/banned/lured/whatever...
1.) LEARN FROM IT, check 2nd trade window, dont put pass on other websites, dont break the rules, and dont take ur bank to the wildy for a "drop party" unless u want to risk it.
2.) CRY ABOUT IT, Blame someone else, flame, rage, "quit", Have jagex spoon feed you everything.
