Dan, yes they affect each other, but they are not dependent on each other.
We could have one without the other. PVP and getting drops can be programmed not be a "trade". And having the trade limits changed doesn't mean that there has to be PVP.
BTW, calling names is not really a brilliant argument. ^_^

Ugh, I can't take anymore of this right now. It's really hard reading all of the illiterate tripe and purposeful garbage spam. It's tempting to try to teach you kiddies the English language, like the difference between "due" and "do" or how to spell "sense" but forget it.
Simple test. Go back through the forum and sort posts into support and opposition posts. Then look at each group's posts looking for things like: Reposts and other idiotic spam. Posts in all caps. Posts that use offensive language, name calling, and other hostile attitudes. Totally incomprehensible posts. Huge amounts of misspelled words. Offensive character names. Et Cetera.
Then tally up instances of well written, thoughtful, mature, reasoned arguments.
Will there be exceptions on both sides? Yes. But anyone who has followed this thread for long knows what the results will be. If Jagex wants to argue the quality of players you are catering doesn't matter then, fine. Rude ignorant jerk money spends as well as other people's money. But if you honestly care about the quality of the players' in game experience, well.... I think I've made my point.

I am totally against re instating the no trade limit rule. Essentially a player can give a very rare item for free while charging intolerably high prices per item to those players who practice the mass production of goods. An example is a person charging 500 gp per feather to a person who he knows is planning to make 10k + arrows of whatever level he can fletch. Ripping people off would become the name of the game in trading within RS. It is a hassle when trying to give people that you know in real life large sums of RS matierials as a gift. Its a downright pain when a person who has not done a single quest on RS tries trading with a person who as a skill cape of quests. But we have all seen, regardless about where we are in the world, that people tend to focus on the bad rather than the good. You hear more news about crimes and wrongdoings than of people doing good in the world. The free trade would allow those horrors come back into RS. Unless the players can manage decent trade and not turn the RS trade into Rip off fest, I am totally against the free trade.
I am voicing out now because the GE is my life line when comes to skilling. Decent prices for goods is what keeps skilling profitable. Corruption of the trading system will severely devastate me.
As far as the reintroduction of the wilderness is involved, I am neither for or against it seeing that I do not take part in PvP.
I hope that Jagex either will or has taken my points into consideration before they make a decision regarding free trade. But aside from this, I will stand by whatever decison Jagex makes concerning these topics.
Sincerely,
Old Iron

I have yearned for this day since I quit runescape, a long time ago. Its hard for me to contemplate why anyone would vote against free trade and I have read every single post on this thread to try and understand why some people decided to abstain. Runescape for me, from a young age was a reflection of the real world and I enjoyed the element on the game where players were free to make their own decisions, help out others, run shops etc. All this sadly left the game when the update was introduced. I was no longer able to run a shop offering bargains, private drop parties couldn't be hosted and the game ultimately became a reflection of communism. We could only do drop parties if everyone was involved etc. It made the game boring and took away the one element which made runescape great!! It was once a free market. To put price restrictions on items, runescape ultimately ruined the game...ALL OF MY FRIENDS LEFT, and I mean over 30 players just simply because of it.
Theres also a feeling amongst players that botting would get worse but I know that that's just a lie. Botting is worse now than when I played and a representation of that is the amount of players woodcutting in draynor, fighting chickens in lumbridge, cows outside falador, fishing in the fishing guild?? I introduced my gf brother to this game yesterday after hearing about this update and I was annoyed that he didnt get the real expirience. Hardly anyone talks anymore. most of the lower level players are bots and the higher levels simply dismissed him as a "noob". RWT is still prominent and easy to access and bots are now much more readily available. Unfortunately this is something that Jagex cant control and has failed to do so with the updates.
Yes maybe less RWT goes on but thats because demand has fallen, I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS UPDATE WILL GET 1000S of COMMITED PLAYERS BACK TO THIS GAME!! For example, I have payed membership despite not playing for the last year.
IT NEEDED AND THANKFULLY WILL BE DONE

As I speak to you on this account, I must tell you, this account was explicitly made for use on the Old Wilderness.
Yes, there are always the adverse effects of things in RuneScape, and in my opinion, at least among my friends, have come to a common acknowledgement that the decisions JaGeX have been making and have made as of late are taking more from the game than adding to it.
The Free Trade and Old Wilderness was what MADE RuneScape the best. I myself will admit that I was scammed out of millions, with use of the Staked Dueling, Wilderness, and good old verbal scams and the like. And I was mad, I'd lost my hard-earned items, but I LEARNED. Just as anything in life that has a thorn, we hurt ourselves, learn from it, and move on. It makes us better people.
Even with the scams and loss of items, RuneScape as it was, was the best game I had ever played. I had another account that I primarily played on, but I knew that it was no good for fighting other players in the Wilderness, so I made this one and designed it for fighting.
The day I got my membership, the first time I logged in on a member server on this account, was also the same day that You, JaGeX, took the Wilderness, Free Trade, and Staked Dueling.
It, to be completely honest, Ruined RuneScape for me. The ONLY Reason I wasn't one of the thousands of players that quit, was because I had already been playing RuneScape for about two years, I couldn't just walk away from all that I'd worked for and accomplished. All my friends, everything.
So I grinned, and beared it? No, Bore it I believe is the right term. I made this account my primary account, since I'd gathered some wealth on it to prepare for making it Wilderness Worthy.
That day, RuneScape died for hundreds of thousands of players. All over the forums was "R.I.P. RuneScape, goodbye forever," things like that. I myself thought RuneScape would go out of business.
I say, Bring Them Back. Nothing could be better for RuneScape and its players.
