In my view, it seems that the main concern players have with this proposition is that the number of bots operating in runescape will rise. It therefore seems like lunacy to co'inside this poll with the announcment of the $10'000 a month givaway that appears to be happening all year in 2011. Wouldn't spending money that members pay in the trust that Runescape will be improved, on cracking down on bots and bot suppliers, therefore helping to lower the number of bots that will be created if this update takes place, be a better way of celebrating Runescape's 10th anniversary than giving it away to a random selection of players?
I personally support the return of the old wilderness and free trade, although what Jagex propose will happen to the wilderness if the update goes through should be clarified in greater detail, I would like to know exactly what I am voting for.
I hope I haven't strayed off topic too much when talking about the cash givaway :)

Pkers were never a small minority in Runescape. Maybe there weren't too many hardcore pkers, but as you might remember there were always plenty of worlds dedicated to pking. I think 90% vote speaks for itself. As for the free trade.**** will help keep things in balance, and who does it bother really when people abuse free trade? Not me.

I have been playing RS since 2003 and I remember the original wilderness and the free trade.
The thrill of going to a dangerous place and trying to prove that you are a better fighter than other players was exciting. Now there are PvP worlds where players are spam attacked after leaving a bank. On top of that, it just does not make any sense that a person in a PvP world who kills somebody holding 100k should get a drop worth 1m+. The point of pking is to risk your own gear to try to defeat other players and take theirs. Of course there are clans who would lure other players. The reason that the wilderness "used" to be so dangerous is that you actually had to know how to play the game and what other players were thinking in order to stay alive. And there was another side to RS, "The Non-Wilderness Side." You could still go around and skill, trade with people, and get drops from monsters like you can today.
As for the free trade, I am for it. I am concerned about how many new bots will emerge and how much RWT there will be. But Jagex has already said that they know that they will not be able to completely get rid of RWT and the bots will still be a part of the game. They also said that they have become better equipped for dealing with these problems and believe that if they bring these aspects of the game back that they will be able to deal with most of these problems. The Duel Arena will be a place for people to stake against eachother and also to have friendly battles, like it was originnaly designed to be. Also, who does not want to be able to give a friend a great *****day/holiday/etc. gift.
Long live Runescape! Both the Old and the New!

Im sick and tired of seeing people rant about this, this is THE BEST possible thing jagex can do, Jagex always wanted to be the BEST MMORPG out there. the DID achieve that goal as the best FREE MMO out there. over the last 3 years the charts have been going down and down because the number of leaving players was greater then the number of people coming in. (opposite of the problem china is having)...
anyways this update has attracted ALOT of "veterans" people in my school used to talk about this game all the time! but since the failed update of 2007 it has been left in history. when i heard about a whole bunch of people talking about the "vote" i rushed to a computer at the library and saw!! because of the vote jagex has received thousands and thousands of new players !!!!!NOT TO MENTION THE FAME THEY GOT FROM THE MOST AMOUNT OF VOTES IN ANY GAME HISTORY UNDER 24 HOURS!!!!!!!!

anyways if your want the REAL runescape experience vote YES!

Ok so all of the skillers and people aganist it in general are the minority. look at the vote count. 90% want it and only 10% don't/don't care.
When Jagex took out pking/free trade, they lost hundreds of thousands of people. A great number of them members, which means they also lost a lot of money.Yes of course new players came, but they always have and will. The new players don't know any better.I personally quit runescape and canceled both my memberships because I played and payed to PK like many of the people that did. For all of you that never pked or never chance to, it was exciting and very rewarding. Also, friends and enemies were made as well as rivals and money. There was nothing like the adrenaline rush of getting a kill, looting a kill, or attacking/getting ready to attack someone.Skilling wouldnt be any different with PKing for all you skillers.Treasure trails are ment to be difficult and really I dont think ive ever been killed doing a clue scroll and even if I did i would just bring 4 items so I can keep it if I die regardless.Skillers would actually benefit as the price of food and potions would rise and stay in their control because they produce them and sell them to PKers.
The PvP and Bounty worlds just don't seem to satisfy what I would like to see in PKing, and the only thing that will is the "gool ol' days" of runescape.
And of course, I voted YES because I would start playing RS again and a lot of my friends said that would to.
