My account was made in late 2004/early 2005, so I am well aware of the "Old Runescape", and I can honestly admit that I was whole-heartedly against the removal of the wilderness and free trade in 2007. I remember the first time I logged in after the update, the phrase came to mind "Welcome to Ruinedscape." However, I have changed my position. This update will truly ruin Runescape. If you re-institute free trade, real world trade will once again become rampant and botters will crash the prices of raw materials. People will get scammed everyday and while it is their fault for not being careful enough, it is YOUR fault for giving scammers the tools to perform the scams. All prices will drop due to this update. Since the release of this poll, prices have already started to crash, and it will destroy the economy.
More frightening than free trade, is the release of the old wilderness. Since 2007, new items have been released that drastically improve the speed at which players do damage. It used to be telly-block and barrage until dead. Now it will be overload, turmoil, claw spec --> dead. This would not really be a problem, but you have also introduced new activities, that require travel in the wilderness. IT SHOULD BE MADE CLEAR, that not everyone who goes into the wilderness supports the old wilderness. Your elite scanning clues in the wilderness will be so dangerous, that few (if any) people will finish them. Coordinate clues are not difficult, but players will face more obstacles. Bosses such as KBD and corp will be camped at the entrances by clans. The wilderness will become a death trap for players of any level.
As a player, I couldn't care less about what world records you win, and I don't appreciate you making rigged and non-specific votes to boast more lies, and fool people into thinking you can get 1.2M votes in 24 hours. You left a loophole on purpose.
Until proven otherwise, the jagex motto remains: "If something isn't broken, fix it until it breaks."
