Dear Jagex, I think this is the best update that could ever happen to runescape After the wilderness and free trade was removed runescape was never fun again, pvp and bounty hunter could never replace the old wilderness and the thrill of pking I like the old style of when you pk someone you got what they had on instead of pvp or bh you get some BS drop and you make no profit and its no fun at all. The free trade should come back for many reasons too so you can have that freedom of doing what you want instead of having a limit on what you can do. As soon as I heard wild should be comming back I bought membership and started training getting ready to pk, I really hope the wilderness and free trade comes back as it would be the BEST update runescape could have since 2007 when it was removed.
And as for all these people saying they don't want to get scammed they need to be more aware of what there doing, if they get scammed thats their own fault and they can report the player and its a lesson learned. As for bots and RWT that will always be going on in the game no matter what it happens even in pvp and bh.

To me, this update shouldn't even be questioned. Runescape, before the event on December 10,2007, it was always like this. It had free trade, old wilderness, and those were the golden ages of Runescape. Honestly the people saying to not do this update are absolutely ignorant and delusional. " Scammers will return and lurers!" Maybe if you people weren't so apathetic, you would realize that it is nearly impossible to be lured or scammed even if you have half a brain,
It is not hard to look at your trade screen before accepting an offer, and lurers are pretty obvious when they ask you to meet you near the wild.
Those of you are saying, (quote)" The wilderness update in 07 was to keep RWT'ers away and even though we hated it at first. All of us dealt with it." That is an incorrect statement, because first of all, this game makes me sick. The pking is totally stupid and does not make sense. Tell me why would it make sense for me to kill a target with 30k on him to receive 1m. And you guys though RWT'ing ruined the runescape economy? This new Runescape drop system has ruined it. I have seen 1 itemers named " bob123" with dragon claws, tell me when in the old wilderness did you see a no itemeer with above 20m.
The old wildy/trade allows more freedom in runescape. It is alike to real life society, do you see the government limiting the amount of money you can give to someone like your grandma? No, you can do whatever you want. This new runescape is stupid and I can't believe you are making us vote, even with the voting, there are 1.5m+ in favor, so why wouldn't you make this update. Honestly the current runescape is rubbish, and isn't it funny how you had a lot more players when the old wildy/runescape was around? Yeah go figure jagex. Most of the kids who are against this update are people who weren't even playing in 07, so how can you opionate something that you know nothing about.

I love this vote you, (Jagex), have set up for the players, the people who play this game, to voice their opinion.
I'm in favour of this topic, with modifications of the pre-update trade-limit and wilderness that I started out with 8 years ago.
Although I haven't played as much as I used to, mainly because most of my friends stopped playing because of the updates. I still feel like a useful member of this gaming community and would love to help out in any way I can.
A few suggestions that I believe would benefit both sides, gamers and Jagex.
WILDERNESS:
- Having a limit to how much can be worn/caried into the wild.
- Have "uncharted areas". Meaning, basically keep the wilderness how it is now BUT have certain, areas that are what the "old" wilderness was all about (and having them large enough to substain a fair amount of "pkers&quot ;) . Free-for-all, anybody attacking anyone (levels must be in a certain, reasonable range).
TRADE LIMIT:
- I understand the threat that bots can/have made. Stricter and more productive measures be implimated to stop these people from making the no-limit trade a joke.
- Have warnings when either trading partner makes a sudden change. I see this is already in affect. Great work. This greatly reduces scams.
- Have a "gift giving" option for players on the "friends list". I see people complaining about how they can't give their friends gifts because of the limited trade. This will give people the option to give their friends whatever they want. I understand there are problems with that though.
- *Addtional thoughts. Have a higher trade limit, but for friends, introducing the "gift giving" option will satisfy that area.
- Regulate the "hell" out of the trading that goes on in the game. Increase measures that will insure a safe, reasonable, and fair trade(s).
All in all, great work for everything that has taken place so far in the game, and the game itself.
This vote will make a difference no matter the outcome.
8 year "vet",
- Christina

On this vote there are definately benefits and definatley some problems. While I think that this is a good idea because of the bringing back the originals I think alot of abuse will come from it. I mean, free trading instills money sharing and the original wildy instills high level players scamming noobs into "coming into the wilderness for some money", or scams along those lines. The vote is a very good idea even if the awesome jagex staff are or aren't partial.

So if this bot detector detects them.. then what. Wait for server updates or server crash or a rainy day to remove what is detected? There are far too many with the trade restriction in place for me to understand how you will handle the additional goldfarming bots.
And once the trade restriction goes we have repeat of 2007.
1. Bots for personal account
2. Bots goldfarming for rl income
3. Sweatshop employees heading to frost dragons for income
4. Scamming for personal account
5. Hacking accounts for income
Seems like some serious consequences for a bit of nostalgia. Do you think it will up membership that much with the new goldfarming accounts and ex-members coming back to members? Besides - don't forget that loads of members went f2p to pk anyway. They liked having that agility advantage.

Yet another thing claimed to motivate those against this idea bites the dust in relation to me at least. I almost never trade(d) with individuals, the biggest reason I love the GE. I have never once been scammed or lured.
Very early on someone in the Lumby caves claimed they desperately needed my light source and offered to overpay for it, convincing me to extinguish it. Ha, ha. Hilarious.
I agree that people just need to slow down and trade calmly and carefully.
I personally don't see any real validity to the scamming, luring or especially hacking arguments against this. If kids share their ***s_words with their friends or make obvious passes I don't see a reason to protect them from themselves. But there are plenty of better arguments against it.

F I N A L L Y Jagex! I thank you if this passes, not saying it will but this wil bring you guys many old players back therefore making your company more profit. Also there is no real way to stop botting, No matter what you try and do you may never stop botting. In Addition, RWT and all that was sort of out of the way after the update. I also think that it is a bit odd that there is not a NO option, although I do highly agree with the Free Trade and Wilderness update. I would just like to say Goodluck Jagex, and I really hope that this update really happens :P

1.5 mill votes yes, so far, a flawed sham of a vote, still a long way to go before it reaches a majority with what is it something like 10 mill accounts. this stunt they are pulling is a slap in the face to all players , the folks that cryed out when they instatuted the trade cape and no wildy, no one would listen to them then and now they are doing the same to all the people that supported them through the updates.
I have allready started to look for a new online game to play, i have recomended this game to many many people over the years but i can no longer do so, it just feels like we are being jerked around(both sides to this)
