Second post on here, decided to highlight some thoughts:
1. Free trade and the Wilderness should not have been removed in the first place.
2. If they come back now; Jagex is admitting that a mistake was made.
3. Trade used to be more personal and interactive; people used to run businesses more often and more effectively, there was good competition. Now there is a interface called the GE, that though good as a whole does not measure up to free trade standards.
The artificial prices imposed by Jagex, interfering with the economy; as well as foolish things like the climbing boot (scam) change for example highlight the system flaws.
The key point people miss as they claim prices will skyrocket, is the simple logic that when competition exists, prices are kept honest. For most common items, they are easy to obtain and many people have them. Someone could sell a dds for 1m, but there would be a shop selling it for 50k and other players selling it for under 100k easily.
Some rares would skyrocket, among other items; perhaps as a correction for their prices being held artificially low. That would be in accordance to supply and demand.
4. Jagex should learn that they can't expect players to have a strong community; when they can't even give each other great X-mas presents. =(
5. I don't care about old wilderness at all; if that's the price for free trade, I'll pay it. I think a better option, sort of a win-win is to leave revs in the wilderness and bring back the pking possibility. Upon entering the Wilderness a player will be possed the question: PKers or Revs? They pick PKers, they can be killed by and kill other players. They pick Revs, they will be attacked by Revs only; but can't PK themselves.
6. I don't care if any change happens regarding this; I'm fine with either system.
7. Lastly for you noobs that complain about being scammed; learn some math and pay better attention. The loss of free trade hasn't cured stupidity.
Merry Christmas! =)
