Wait...wha? People are complaining that clues would become hard to solve in the Wilderness? Did they forget that we used to solve clues with PKers on our rears, freezing us with Ice Barrage and whipping us silly? The Wilderness is supposed to be a dangerous place...you're risking your clue for a reward.
I can see why people are against free trade for the risk of RWT trading and whatnot. From what I see, there are still plenty of people botting at yews/fishing spots/etc. Although the restrictions on free trade barred RWT out one way or another, it didn't quite resolve any botting stuff.
On the topic of scamming...there are multiple warnings that appear during a trade, such as the removal of an item having an "!" mark appear where the item was, the trade value bar, etc. People will still get scammed, yes, but the warnings JaGeX has placed would probably prevent scamming for the most part.
Old Wilderness back? I would say "HELL YES!!" even though I wasn't a PKer; I just had lots of fun adventures just hanging around the Wilderness. Some people like it the way it is now, which is fine, but perhaps the Wilderness will see the good ol' destruction it used to! If they bring back free trade and the Wilderness, duelers might be able to stake their valuebles once again.

The problem I have now is that the entire system has been altered far beyond simply having free trade and the old wild.
We now have all sorts of things in place for trading that are working pretty well with a few exceptions. Friends still can't trade unlimited with each other, some items are far too hard to purchase in the GE, and the GE is almost always being manipulated by clans.
I really don't know that bring free trade back would be better than just addressing those few problem areas.
As for the old wild...where do you start? We now have entire worlds that are devoted to PKing. We have quests that talk about Revs and such. Would Revs be removed? We have this overly complicated and weird PVP system. We have tons of content now that was built on the idea of a "safe" wild.
Again, the game has changed too much to simply return it back to the old way. Instead, yet again, I suggest fixing some of the lingering problems.
PVP is too complicated and weird now. The old drop system of getting your opponents gear was perfect. PERFECT. That is one aspect that should be fixed.
Also, PVP worlds are mostly wasted because you can't try to play in them, like skill in them, because surviving the out-of-balance combat system is too hard. Defense means nought in RS. Years ago I suggested adding specialized defense spells. Spells that randomly tele your attacker away, food corruption and potion emptying spells. Spells that disarm equipment like the Chaos Elemental does. Spells that impair a player's view. The old wild and the new PVP still suffer from this imbalance of attack versus defense.
I'd need to really think about this before knowing what to really do. I just don't know if the game can so easily be returned to such a state given the myriad of changes that have been made.
It will be interesting to watch...

I do not want to old wilderness back.
The following reasons why:
- Clue scrolls in wilderness = EXTREMELY HARD
Aren't revenants enough danger in the wilderness?
- Wilderness Stars = EXTREMELY HARD
Same as Clue scrolls.
- Green Dragons = No more people at green dragons, ONLY the pkers that can afford to stay in battle.
No old wilderness. That is why we have Bounty Hunter worlds.

Free trade - I am 50% on free trade, because sometimes you want to give something out to a friend that is more than your trade limit.
Reason not for Free Trade:
- Scammers = WAY MORE
Scammers will be happy because you have added free trade.
Scammer 1:W00T, TY Jagex. Time to scam.
Scammer 2:R0FL, I scammed you 10m! Hahaha! N00B!
Even if they are reported, there will be too many scammers to mute or ban them all.

If over 1,000,000 votes are submitted "Yes", and Runescape then sucks balls because people are ruining wilderness and so many people are scamming, then I will then forth quit Runescape.
JAGeX, why take it away in the first place? Just because you want popularity doesn't mean you have to go *@#!ing Runescape.

Jaxex is trolling us and I like it! First I was like "WHAT IS JAGEX THINKING!@@@@, then I read somewhere you don't need to log in and I was like "Oi, Jagex is being a pretty good internet troll right now!'
I'm pretty sure Jagex know what will happen if it comes back and if you actully understood what we read (average I.Q. required) 3 years ago on the mainpage, so meh.
