I believe the game has improved because of the updates Jagex made to the Wildy and Free Trade. It's made the game safer and more accessible.
-If you want the thrill of PvPers coming to hunt down anyone nearby then go to a PvP world. The Wildy is still nearly as dangerous with the Revenants, who are pretty much as powerful as your average PvPer. Plus, many features would become nearly inaccessible, such as Fist of Guthix, Stealing Creation, the Beacons and more as PvPers discover that they can sit around at these locations to pick off regularly occurring victims.
The old Wildy allowed RWTers to get around the Trade Limit. Although it isn't as safe as direct trading, it still worked.
-Free Trade may have meant that a huge amount of wealth could be lent to your friends, it also meant that people could be scammed much more easily. If you want to sell or give your friends something you can easily do it within the $10,000+ limit.
While I don't mind quite as much if they reinstate free-trade, if they do they should keep the little bar down the bottom which tells you how much wealth is being transferred. This means that people can realise if they are buying something for the wrong price.
Free Trade allowed RWTers to make mass transactions which were illegal. The Trade Limit, although it doesn't stop them, it definitely discourages them and slows them down.

Persoanlly I dont want old wild back. Clue scrolls, getting to SC, kbd and repairing pouches will all be a pain again. PKR's have their own worlds, so why ruin the ones that are not by bringing old wild back. No fun getting kileld with nothing to lose but worse when you do.
As for removing the exchange limit, I am for that. Bots are still here today even tho its isn't the extent it used to be. Jagex says they have better systems for catching them...then no reason to have a trade limit.

The whole purpose of wildy is being dangerous. And Jagex could with ease make mini games like Penguins and clue scrolls in not wildy places. They could to that why wouldnt they if it made the minigame impossible?

Personally, I have no use for the old wilderness and if it comes back I'll have to go back to doing clue scrolls in the very early morning again. It's not that I have any problmes with pking at all, I just don't enjoy it or engage in it and I resented there being an aspect of the game that forced exposure to it.
Now with a few quests and the beacons and even a minigame located there the opportunities for pkers will be greatly improved.
I wouldn't have a problem with a few worlds with the old wilderness and a few with it's current version.
The free trade issue I have no problems with and really don't care one way or the other if it comes back. Quite frankly the problems it causes are Jagex's to deal with.
