I like how Runescape is considering bringing back the old wilderness and free trade.
However, I think the old wilderness should come back in certain worlds. I don't enjoy pking but I still have to go into the wilderness. There are revs in the current wilderness but that isn't as bad as a bunch of people following you and wanting to kill you.
I also don't like completely free trade. I like knowing how much an item costs without having to check guides, like it used to be. If there was still a G.E. in place where you had to buy everything by RS prices (like how it is now) BUT when trading with another player, you can trade however much you want while a price counter at the bottom of the trade menu that has the prices of the G.E.
And the voting seems really weird to me. They should make you add your ******** so they can make sure that someone isn't just taking names and clicking 'vote'.

i like the the point you bring across at the end of your comment, maybe this update is directed towards the more expreienced and powerful/rich players in this game?
i for one being a veng range tank know that ill be sweet handling myself if this update is gone through with just like everyone had to learn to survive back in the old days when the fully functional wilderness was still thriving.
overall i think im going to stay neutral on this update because the pros seem to always balance the cons (i like to keep an open mind)
it seems that today, the wilderness is just a huge boring trafficless wasteland, maybe jagex should work on that before actually just bringing the whole thing back, or maybe, setup a feature like a combat willingness sort of thing. turn it on or off before you jump the wilderness ditch so that the game knows if you will be eligible/willing to fight for your life, if you choose no itl be just like you were on a normal world, your biggest fair being the revs :)

As a faithful Runescape player for 8 years, I would love to see the old wilderness and free trade back.
Back before the limit of trade was set, merchanting was all I would do. I could merchant on Runescape for hours, it was my favorite thing to do. Once the trade limits were set I stopped merchanting and quit Runescape for a good 2-3 years. Bringing back merchanting would be a great update!
Of course there was the scams here and there, but is something every person will have to face. Would it really be that hard for a person to double check the trade they are conducting? Would it really be "too much of a hassle" for a player to gather the information of the items in trade? You live and you learn.
Regarding the wilderness, I'm a little either or on that decision. I'm not much of a pker, but I do enjoy pking every once in awhile.

Free trade could go a long way to put an end to merch clans controlling the economy if we lose our dependence on the GE and start trading with each other instead, setting our own prices and offers.
Then with PK as it is, we have 76k tricks which is a nothing more than huge GP falling from the sky on these people.
Maybe both systems are broken, but which of the two would you prefer?
Free trade and Wilderness PKing at least gives the game more interest and challenge. Maybe it won't be all about who bought what skillcapes anymore. Less focus on 99s and more focus on gameplay has to be a good thing.
Tbh, I'd much rather bargain with a woodcutter than put in an order on the GE.
And with Wildy back, think how much your potions and food will be in demand. Skilling makes a comeback.

Wildy is supposed to be dangerous place to go, if you want a peaceful place, I suggest you to go chaos tunnel or lumbridge is the peaces* place in runescape.
Secondly, people are not blind. They can double check first before they click the final button to aceept the trade.

i have been playing runescape since 2004, i have seen many things change and shape the game. but by far the biggest change came in 2007 with the removal of free trade and the wild. Many of my friends and i opposed the removale of both free trade and the wild. many of my friends have quit playing runescape due to these two HUGE changes. I belive that having free trade and the wild back would urge more people that have quit the game to come back. I know one persons vote doesnt count, im pretty sure even 100 people's vote dont count but i voted. Yes i voted and i vote YES. i belive the old style of playing and pk-n should come back. what if i want to give my friend a gift for the christmas? i cant because of stupied trade limits. but backin the day befor the update in 2007 i could give my friends millions of gp and not have to worry about a stupied thing called a trade limit. what if i want to go pk-n and i see some guy wearing soem kinda armor that i want. what is the chances of me getting it? i have to have over 26k and 100ep and i most likely want get half of what he has. bring back the old wild and free trade not for the scammers and bots but for people who actuly play for fun, for the millons of fans who love this game. BRING IT BACK!

Bringing back the Wilderness would bring me back to the list of members of Runescape. It should be implemented on every single world for that was the original idea of it. Clue scrollers should learn to prepare themselves for a hard trip again.
What comes to free trade, I'm supporting the idea as well, though revitalizing PKing is the more important thing to me. I have to admit, however, that Grand Exchange could be handy when it comes to gathering supplies for certain activities such as PKing. They could remove the price brackets but still keep the estimated prices for the Grand Exchange.
