Free trade and the old wilderness are RUNESCAPE. All of the people complaining about the old runescape are seriously selfish. the majority of the players want the old RS back and any good game developers give the players what they want because thats how the game should be played. As for Jagex im seriously upset in the fact that they took their sweet time with announcing this and then creating two different polls? what is that all about? I log on today to see that instead of the end of my long wait for the new update i have to wait until the 17th and then some, to be honest this killed my entire mood to even play RS anymore. The development behind the wilderness and free trade vote is categorized to me as two things, sloppy and unprofessional. Basically the players were teased by the real thing and i am offended by it. It's been well over 2 months since the idea first appeared and it should have ended much sooner but i guess thats what you get from jagex, Blizzard would have undoubtedly saw the update straight to the end and not take useless polls which the results could already be foreseen. Thus i have decided to stop playing this and go back to world of warcraft. Have fun waiting.

Seems highly unlikely, and weather or not that really happened, the wilderness can't be blamed for as a drastic increase in RWT.
The people who were RWT, mostly used free trade, and not the wilderness.

You took the words right out of my mouth. This update will make high level accounts much more attractive. I've never given my p word out, so that isn't a problem for me. I have excellent online security, so I do hope this is enough. I have 10+ friends each with 15+ 99's, and most of them were hacked back in the old days....since the trade limit, they have never been hacked again....speaks volumes!

it was up to the buyer where to meet, i could care less about that. Im not saying that free trade wasn't definitely used, im just saying the wildy appealed to many so as to not attract attention.
and im not saying that the wildy is gonna drastically increase RWT, i could care less
I think you've forgotten that I'm as much for the return of the free trade and old wildy as anyone

I agree with you. From the time they decided to put up the petition and get those 1.7mil names, then the following weeks that they spend accumlating the 1.2mil votes...
They could of had the update prepared to launch today, if not sooner.
But we will have to wait until monday for this "Offical Announcment" that may, or may not be the actual update for the wilderness' return.

Anyone could trade anywhere, and trade anything, when ever they wanted.
The wilderness would be the most inconvient place to go when it could be done in plain sight, or even upstairs or downstairs somewhere.
I dont see any convincing reason as to why anyone would try to trade in the wilderness as to not seem "suspicous"

because Jagex sees everything. everything that happens in the game, anything and everything possible is recorded in the data. someone just giving money away in a trade would seem alittle strange. true getting pked with it would seem just as strange but maybe it didnt cause asmuch of a red flag

I suppose it didn't raise as much of a red flag. But giving away large amounts of cash couldnt always been proven as RWT.
Getting pked would be a less obvious method of transfering wealth, but thats what duel areana was there for. Where people would do high staking and risk mils over one fight.
Using the wilderness would be less obvious, but very risk and without a garenteed success rate, why risk high amounts of money there?
