The uproar that the possibility of this change is causing is almost laughable. Way too many people are getting on to rant and rave about how this is going to 'destroy their game experience' or something. Yes, bringing back the old wilderness will make things more difficult. Yes, bringing back free trade will greatly influence the cost of items. And if you just plain don't like it, i can understand that. But people, please don't go around misinforming people with your fears.
Point #1: The grand exchange is going nowhere. For everyone who has voted, before you did there was presented a list of what would change. Specifically relating to the GE, all that will change is the restrictions of the maximum, minimum, price floor and ceiling numbers.
Point #2: 'free trade sucks just look at the us economy with people out of work'. That answer is simple. The reason the U.S. economy is in the tank is because of government involvement. Yes, there will be recessions, just as surely as there will be a low tide. That is the way Economics Work! The implementation of price limits, floors, and ceilings is what made the GE the hulking, item destroying monster it is today. Personally, I'd be perfectly happy if they kept the trade limit, but just removed the limiters on the Exchange, so item prices could actually fluctuate to what they are worth.
Point #3: Yes, the wilderness will be dangerous. It Is Supposed To Be. Period. Just because you will have to deal with a lot more risk means nothing if you are a smart player. Back in 2005, I spent oodles of time in the wilderness. I was lv 45, and I never killed one other person. Yes, it can be done, but that is unrelated.
Point #4: I am not a pker, nor a skiller. I am simply someone who plays the game and chooses to not focus on one area, but instead trains Every skill. Thus flamers can leave their arguments at home.
Lastly, and most importantly, Runescape is a GAME. remember that. It is recreation. Nothing more.
