*Mah repost
I am a veteran player, and I have enjoyed this game for more than 4 years or so, and I voted "Yes" to return the Wilderness and trading to its original state.
Why you may ask?
Well, I myself find Runescape a game fun not for how easy it is to play, but how difficult it is to play and how you have to wait hours to sell your items in a bustling market place! I enjoyed this, as it made lots of player on player interaction, allowed you to start your own enterprises, and enjoy the business side of Runescape, and that is why I use to play the game. Now, the Market Place is like a stock market, no longer a place where people interact and actually trade, haggle, ETC. This has desolated my reasons to play the game as I loved this, and now, it is replaced with a cold Grand Exchange!
As for the Wilderness, the rush, the thrill of fighting others was wonderful! I was never good at it, but it was a fun pass time, as well as a good way to compete with other players, as you see in the new system, no one, I MEAN NO ONE, wants to wait hours for their EP to fill, wait an hour for a target, or face extreme penalties to their drop? Who in their right mind WOULD WANT THIS? Part of the reason you would be in the Wilderness is to get valuable ores, fight powerful monsters, earning good income, as Player Killers lurk in the shadows and strike. This is part, of the very fun of Runescape! It is the imperfections, the difficulties in this game, that make it fun. If you just got a billion gold from doing pointless grinding why would that be fun? Yet that is what the normal player in Runescape is doing now.
Please, I beg you, bring back the risk, the fun of Runescape and restore it to its former classical self!
I know bots will return, just update your systems to remove them faster, and educate the Runescape population why not to perform this. In order to remove botters, you must remove the demand for them. Otherwise, they will ALWAYS EXIST.

I think everyone needs to realize that the use of bots/scripts, is hardly a big issue. The Runescape Game servers have a security feature that can - VERY easily - detect a script or bot being used, and take automatic action against them.
That, and the outstanding Runescape players report people they suspect to be bots.
And, I must say, I love the idea. I miss it all. My friend is still holding on to a few of my possessions that I lent to him, days before the trade limits were enacted.

Many people have the same incentives as me, so please understand you people whom vote no, if you dislike it, don't go to a the wilderness and simple be smart about your trading! I am sure you will enjoy the changes to Runescape to its classical state, your arguments are weak otherwise!
Just try it, I am sure you will enjoy the increased community interaction.

I've been playing Runescape for years, long before the wilderness and unlimited trading updates. I don't see why people are complaining to leave the wilderness and free trade out. It was fine when it was in game, and I think it should be fine now. If you get scammed, you can learn from that experience.
I agree that free trade should be put back in game, so that it would make gaming much more fun. The wilderness should be put back like the Bounty Hunter Volcano, but put where it is mostly popular.
Whether or not people like it, everyone will get used to any of the updates like the past.

I've thought this over many times, and all in all it comes down whats best for jagex. They once said they will never bring it back, now they are saying vote for it back. How can we trust a company that goes back on there word? Jagex tried hard to please everything and a few weeks ago nobody thought of having the wildy back. Also jagex took there time to make things like pvp/bh even the grand exchange and even increased trade limits with having friends longer + quests. They have stopped more bots now then they have back in the day. My question is why give that up now? It looks to me like jagex is just giving up and giving into people so they stop complaining, which most high level people know that will be Never.
Also you don't know me don't judge me, and btw my eyes have to be open to know what i'm typing thank you.

No. Don't bring back what you have already fixed.
When the Wilderness was removed, huge rage spread across the Runescape Community with harsh trolling and flaming. Many people were devastated when they could no longer PK as their main source of income and that's why the Wilderness caused such a huge hype. It wasn't because the Wilderness was a really loved thing, it was just that people who worked hard to build pures could no longer use them for its purposes.
However Jagex did a great job in introducing PvP worlds and Bounty Hunter worlds which acts the same, if not better than the Old Wilderness. New PvP and BH worlds allows faster banking, and faster restocking of food in order to go out and kill more targets. The world became larger and it gave it a much more exciting experience because familiar places could now become your last sight.
The new PvP and BH worlds yes may not result in the same amount as profit as it would with the Old Wilderness because a person may risk full Bandos and AGS, but the drop may be only worth 3m. however when you think about, the Old Wilderness had many flaws as wells. Their were a lot of scammers who would lead people into the wilderness and kill them for their loot. A lot of noobs hung around the wilderness and waited for a drop to appear and pick it up for free cash. 1 itemers went in and killed many hard working Pkers for their loot and risked nothing.
Bringing back the Old Wilderness will be very repetitive because, really PvP and BH worlds work perfectly fine. They stop 1 Itemers because if you were a true pker your EP would be higher so those drops that you get are good, but 1 Itemers who risk nothing don't get very good drops because they aren't risking anything and have low EP. The system works~!
Why would you bring back something that you have fixed, improved, and made it better. Many people have adapted to the new style and all people want is PvP. Jagex fought so hard to get rid of the Wilderness, why bring it back?

Oh, this has just gotten classic.
A very vocal and (of course) rude, arrogant and dismissive "yes" voter who joined well after halfway through the thread admits on his first post that he's 14 then proceeds for 100 to 200 pages to grace us all with his oh so informed opinions on elections, psychology, economics, crime and plenty of other real world grown up topics that a child has no business doing much besides listening to adults on. Then to top it all off he eventually casually mentions he voted on ten different accounts (long after implying that multiple account voting couldn't make more than like a thousand vote difference in the results). And the kicker? He calmly announces most of the accounts he voted were BANNED accounts! (Why on EARTH does Jagex allow people to do ANYTHING other than appeals and stuff on BANNED ACCOUNTS?) And he has the temerity to even PARTICIPATE in discussions on topics like vote fraud and botting and cheating and civility.
Sorry, but these last couple of hundred pages or so just put an exclamation point on those many posters who have observed the difference between mature players and greedy offensive little jerks on this thread who just can't wait to get back on RS and kill as many unwilling combatant players as possible, while assuring us that they have NO INTEREST in attacking unarmed skillers or clue hunters.
My business here is concluded.
EDIT: He has since edited out the voting admission; fortunately for him nobody else commented on it...
