This will be an unbelieveable benefit for everyone in Runescape. For those who disagree, you have no comprehension of economics.
It is actually very simple.
Reintroducing the old wilderness system will, inevitable, draw back many who quit back it 2007. I myself played the game very rarely between 2008 - 2010, but have returned to enjoy the rebirth. But I digress.
All the merchers out there who are crying about the market crash; you are all clueless. The current crash was caused by future expectations; that is, people became scared, and tried to sell everything of value simultaneously. The oversupply wasn't met by demand, and prices plummeted. What people don't realise is that PKing is the heart of the RS Economy. A spike in PKer numbers will result in more demand for food, armour, weapons, potions etc. and will only help skillers and merchers to actually make money.
I know what everyone who is voting no is saying right now, 'botters and RWT will come back and mine/wc/fletch etc. so much rubbish that prices will fall anyway.'
In the current climate, true. However, this trade limit and wild block isn't the appropriate way to counter this. You are simply sacrifising a good to eliminate a bad. There are far simpler ways to eliminate botters than to destroy one of the game's major aspects, and if Jagex are as advanced in security as they claim, they too will know this.
In fact, a potential idea which I have brewed as i've been writing this is that Jagex send a PM to players who they suspect to be botting. This message will obviously bypass the whole 'private message off' system, and it will demand a reply within a certain time limit. If no reply is given, it can be asummed that the player is botting, and if the same test is carried out at later dates, and the same conclusion is drawn, a ba is then appripriate. That is a basic, simple, easy way to combat botting, and I thought of that in 2 minutes. You don't need to kill the game to kill bots.
Get lost, haters.
