Regardless weather old RS is brought back or not, Real World Trade will always stand and to disagree with it is just showing no thought to it...Bots are becoming more advanced just like Runescape is...Cheating will not be completely stopped...there will always be ways to cheat a game. Everyone love Runescape back in the old days, it's the reason most of its players began the game, because it was fun, you weren't restricted to things. Merchanting will always be a problem so long as the word "Greed" stands in this world. Jagex can stop bots but there will always be people slipping through, Scamming will always be a possibility in the game but if a player does not double check his or her trade on second window therefore it is their fault and Jagex are not liable. If people don't want to have there accounts stolen then they should read the rules of the game.
The free trade and old wilderness will bring much more people to the game and more ideas to develop Runescape for the better good of the community as everyone wants a new task, objective, challenge and much more such as new types of entertainment.
Runescape started off as a free community, since it was taken away, the restriction has become pretty much a prison to your/our ability to certain things, with the lend option still in play as well as free trade, scamming should not occur on lending other players/friends your valuable items.
The only way to solve Real World Trade are 2 options.
1. Jagex to come to an agreement with selling site in which jagex take a large percentage of the money payed for the items and that account selling is forbidden.
NOTE TO THE ABOVE OPTION: I am sure everyone is against this, it would not achieve anything.
OR
2. More people Report selling sites. (Much to my liking and I'd prefer)

I do agree, it would be interesting to see the general store filled with items that players simply unload for convenience again.
As for the ol' "lend me this item" scam ,that's not really an issue anymore either, because Jagex actually implemented the item lending feature, which I don't think they would remove.
In the end, I'm quite content with them bringing the wilderness and free trade back, I quit the game after they took it away, with the exception of occasionally coming back for a day or two. However, I do think they have made some massive progress in the past three years to make up for the loss of free trade, and the wilderness. Once it's all back with the combination of updates they release post-2007 I can only imagine how awesome this game is going to be again.

Option one will not work at all, first of all the implementations that go with it are tremendous, not to mention I highly doubt a third part site will agree to it, when they can continue operation anyways. It would literally make more sense for Jagex to sell the gold themselves, which would not happen. Another reason this wouldn't work is Jagex will be taxed for this, as Jagex is a legitimate company, and the third-party RWT sites are not, which would lead back to my previous point, it would make more sense for Jagex to sell the gold themselves and undercut the sites to cause them to shut down. (Economics ftw.) However, I'll reiterate, that's not going to happen.
Option two, lol? What good would that do? Jagex knows of the third party sites I'm sure. The amount of ligation involved in shutting down a site, that is hosted in a country that really doesn't care for your country, and their only qualms with RWT is it's hard to tax, is too much to really be worth it. You're better off reporting the bots, that way they get banned.

this is going to be great, if they bring this back . ill start working on my combat , and stop hanging around castlewars or w.e :D
one of my pk friends told me they where doing this so i rushed to find out , and i tryed to log on and i found out i had a d.l. problem haha, so im tryin to fix that so i could pk again if it comes back :) .
i want pkin so bad, and free trade. i dont really care about it but its gonna makge merching like those old days, i think :D

everyone is saying rip clue solvers and "this isnt good" if i could last check free trade and old wildy is what made runescape what it is today. every time i check how many people are playing online today is becomes less and less everyday. i have never seen it go above 200k people nowadays. this will help runescape be the game it once was and i will vote in favor for it.

To be honest with you, the wilderness was around and active during treasure trails, so the risk there wouldn't be a new thing for the veterans. They could just do the sensible thing, and remove their valuables.

i voted a week ago, the first day the first voting session was put in place. its funny though how so many people complained about forgetting to read the information on the first vote and voted thinking there would be a no option. i mean seriously, everyone can read, but a lot of people skip information, making them prone to this kinda stuff. Come on people, READ!

Everyone acts like clue scrolls where something that didnt exist back when wildy was around??? people using this as a complaint are stupid... to obtain good items clue scrolls should be somewhat difficult
