~~~Continuing from earlier post***
I think when people look back at the old system they see many of the holes *hat were there years ago. Ex. drop trade, scamming, etc.
I think Jagex has stepped it up a notch and updated their tactics on things. Drop trading is against game rules as many know, but to be honest even in the real world, nothing illegal until your caught. So it will probably happen in some way shape or form (multiple browsers or wtv) on small scales.on the ject of scamming...im sorry I played as a younger player those years back and never got scammed, I always though about my trades before accepting them. For sure I probably got ripped of price-wise in a few situations but I learned to do research before making sales/wtv it was. This is just as you should do in real life, yes this is a game but it teaches you (or used to with free trade) about markets, deals and thinking for yourself. Which I think lacks from todays game.
RWT has always been in the game, it was there then and still is now (on a much smaller scale now), why you would pay real world money for items in a game is beyond me but ppl do it. Either way I again trust Jagex to deal with this.
My one fear about this update, is the return of bots. I remember being a low level and walking by a yew surrounded by bots.
At the time I thought to myself that when I reached the right Wc I would nver even be able to compete. They hoarded items, and either sold in bulk or traded to their mains. Basically ruining the game in a lot of aspects for us honest players. People say bots are fixed now they dont work, well Im sorry but when it comes to things like that when you patch something, it often doesnt take long to find a way around it to write new programs. I just have a feeling that the system will be abused, worse is some aspects this time, but I guess either way it will anyways.
Ill play either way, but ppl may be surprised at how the game will change, mixing an older system with the new style.
I can one hundred percent guarantee that you are wrong.
How can you even pretend to think that?
If jagex didn't feel the game were ready they would not be re introducing this. This game is their business so doing something drastic like this is going to have an impact, as it is their living they would not release it if they didn't think the impact would be a positive one.
im pretty sure they wouldnt consider bringing free trade and wildy back if they didnt think they could combat the issues it had in the past. personally ive always hated the g.e. ppl manipulated prices, have to use "junk" to buy the rarest stuff. no1 wanting to sell or buy in trade, i mean seriously i was next to some1 at the g.e. trying to sell something they were trying to buy in g.e. and wouldnt take it unless i put it up in g.e. idk im not to good with words and im tired so im leaving it at that
this update i believe will be awesome it will bring much more joy to the game and not keep us locked like we are in prison, it will also attract more players to the game and is just what i want to see. i was thrilled to see this potential update!
for those who say 'oh there will be too many botters" well guess what? jagex has stated many times that they have excellent systems to stop botters which will combat the issue..
i think this update will be awesome and can not wait for it to arrive.
i have stated my opinion and will leave it at that.
the rest is up to the whole runescape community and from seeing the votes it looks like the vast majority would love to see this update occour. so i say go ahead with the update!!! :) :) :)
What I'm curious about is that no matter how many votes are being tallied up, the percentage is staying at 90-7-3....
very strange. perhaps that needs to be real time as well as the overall votes...
It was 90-8-2 before that.
The reason being for the lack of change is that a new person voting is one in 988,000 and as such they only affect the percentage by small decimal amounts.
