Ahh the old wilderness and the likes of the pkers.... A long time my blade has actually craved to win a set of rune not from a target or random bh+1 kill but from an actual pk. Pking was not all that bad in all honesty. If anything it was more so with the scamming. Free trade would be wonderful, Drop parties and house parties would make a return yes but whats so bad about that? Why shouldn't I be allowed to give my friend 10m as payment for a deed they have done for me? Should it be monitored? Most definitely. I think the trade should still show the worth of the items in it. I fell the ge should become some sort of auction house. Have a pre set price and let people bid upon the item or something of that sort. What I am more interested in is the fact that I will be able to roam the wilderness and only have to worry about the sorry sods who come across me. Although they should do the worrying. I have pretty much rambled on this entire post.
Pros:
No more Merch clans
Free Lance merching (You dont have to buy my items)
No random pk drops (Old wild you got what they were wearing)
Can split loot evenly or let one person have what they need and so on.
Cons:
Scammers (Keep Item worth in the trade and trade modification notice, Also you could add a delay after a trade has been modified so its not a fast yes double click)
Botters (Trade restrictions havnt stopped em that I know of)
If i think of anything else I will ammend this post.

Personally, i welcome back the old Wilderness with open arms, because i was reasonably inexperienced when the wildy was around, and never got a chance to shine when it came to Pking (The best loot i got was a rune plate body and a dragon dagger :P )
Also, with the free trade limit, i do see how it will upset the game, that has only just settled down from 2007. But if you're ready for the inevitable Maelstrom Jagex, i say go for it, this update will really complete the game again, make it the ultimate MMORPG experience :)

First of all, I would like to say that more than anything I want the old wilderness back (though I'm still in favor of free trade). With the G.E and item lending for your friends, the trade limit really isn't such a huge deal anymore. It also prevents RWT and Bots (anyone that remembers the bots years ago will agree with me when I say the situation was chaotic and out of hand, and that truly feels like an understatement).
So, all we'll really need to worry about is the bots (is it too much to ask the players NOT to buy items for $, especially after Jagex has given us the option of our freedom back). I personally think it would be a good thing to make an announcement of the problems that you (Jagex) as a company faced with RWT, and also the players. I recall reading one years ago, but educating new players on this issue would be nice too. I doubt many of them have gone searching for the article.
As for the other issues reguarding the wilderness/scamming.
I'm sorry, but all the arguments about scamming are pretty much BS. If you're lazy during trades, that's your fault. It's also your fault when you go near/into the wilderness! Why would you be there with extremely valuable items -or- most of your money anyways?
As for you clue scroll people (me included), you're risking a few trips in the wilderness to possibly get millions of gold quick. If that's too much for you, then I suggest actually using skills to make your money as there are PLENTY of safer ways to get cash. In '07 and before that year, players knowingly risked trips into the wilderness for methods of getting money. Your free ride in the wilderness is most likely over with the 90% votes for Yes.
On a related note, I only ever F2P pk'd, though I still spent a significant amount of time in the P2P wilderness and I specifically remember the parts where I survived nearly all of those trips (or, more correct, that I remember NOT DYING).
Edit: I looked over the Referndum again. Quests relocated!

no need to insult the girl. I understand where she is coming from. back when I first started pking it was very frustrating. And I actually vote in favor of keeping safe worlds. Cause frankly you attempt to pk me for a clue and my clan will be all over you.... Just saying. But I am in favor of the old wilderness. The ep system is so lame.... And not to mention there are a bunch of noobs that get ep up then get their friends to let them kill them. And the little noob cc's wont be gone if old wild returns there will just be more bser's but thats ok because legit clans eat those small poorly founded cc groups for breakfast. My biggest issue is I usually risk close to 5m in items when i pk and its complete bull that if I die whoever killed me only gets around 1m in lame "junk" that half the time doesn't sell. I agree it took more skill to pk in the old wilderness than it does now and these safe areas in BH worlds are for sorry 1 item noobs with d claws and dark bows or ice barrage.
RWT was a big issue but its still going on (Despite your beliefs) its not impossible to transfer large sums of wealth its just time consuming. (No I have no personal experience)I do however know it is still happening. The trade limit has done nothing to botting it still goes on and will so long as some loser desires to cheat. Scamming was horrid and I think there should be notifications in the trade menu to warn you but the trade limit is lame. Lets say I want to trade a Bandos GS for D Claws and someone agrees. ATM we cant cause theres a 5-7m gap in prices.... And I dont accumulate junk in my bank. Its a wast of space for my good items. Basically the current trade limit is unfair if you think about it. I sold my BCP for a fox mask and thanks to the economy lost over 19 mil. Im not complaining but in old rs my friends would have attempted to help me. To loan me money or what not and me pay it back. But now Im just sol. 19m turned to 1m. If thats not getting scammed what is?

I believe the problem with the people that oppose this are taking it personal.
The facts are:
1. More people will become members and return, then the amount of people who will quit.
2. The only reason people are threatening to quit is to try to "scare" Jagex,when in reality they aren't.
3. This is a game it is meant to be fun. What is reward without risk?

dear osbourne do u even know that there arent so many players in rs 900k there r like 500k. The poll has been flawed ppl are making acc's like hell and voting yes and u dont even have to complete the tutorial to vote :| u shuld atleast keep some limits like only 30lvl+ can vote to bring back old wildy. :@
