Now for my opinion on this vote/petition to reinstate free trade and the old wilderness.
It is a semi-hoax and a public relations stunt.
Recently acquiring my Bachelor of Commerce, these things aren't too whacky for me to believe. How come?
Because Runescape is played with people of all ages. The Target Market is way to vaste for Jagex to single out any demographic. Secondly, to create advertisements to adhere to each demographic would be far too expensive.
The easy fix?
Have the individuals do the talking and reaching out for them through Social Media. Hence, why one can observe all the different ways to propagate to YOUR friends (who would usually fall within your demographic) beneath the voting bar.
Another way to look at this is the fact that Jagex pledge to never bring back the wilderness in the past. They are well aware of what will happen if they are to bring back "old" Runescape. Hence, the reason why nobody can vote "no", if that option were available Jagex wouldn't be able to cover their behinds if by some stroke off luck the "yes"'s were to outnumber the "no"'s. Since the proof would be in before their eyes and not keeping their word would have repercussions beyond anybody imagination; Jagex' integrity would be gravely at stake.
Now, back to why the option isn't available. This is simply because the MILLIONS of INACTIVE accounts will count as "No"'s. Working in Jagex' favour of not reinstating free trade and the "old" wilderness.
So basically...
Jagex launched a massive Public Relations stunt and gave the community the task of propagating its name throughout the world.

uffa is RS the only game you ever played?
there's a lot of games in which you can PK freely almost everywhere...
In CO 2.0 you can pk in every area except the 1st one which you can only really use untill lv 15 orso and max lv is 137 really RS is a pretty safe game

The voting system for this really was not your brightest moment, Jagex. Did you not consider that everyone's going to put down as many names as possible and probably even the names of those who DON'T want the update?
I understand several people have already tried to use my name. This disgusts me. A lot of people I know who are mems are angry at this update. And people use their names to get more votes.
I don't usually have harsh things to say about you, but you've just done an abnormally stupid thing. Well done. -.-

I prefer the current wildy and trade limi we have now. It is totally save and keeps scammers and pkers that attack unsuspecting players away. Also, many new players may quit because of players continuously killing them while they try to go somewhere in the wildy and revs are less dangerous.

I started typing random names (EVEN WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE HISCORED) for example summon tank, farm tank, farming tank (srsly .. who'd make those o.O) ... atm I have added 60 people just by typing random gyberish (hmm brb ... I'kk try with random gyberish as well).
