If your ever unsure about a account, check here or the J Mods on Twitter wiki page for all the official J-Mods on Twitter.
In regards to your account security, have a read of these three links:
Support - Computer security
If you haven't already, you should do a full system malware/virus scan but if you don't have any programs or would like to search for more, the above link has good help on it.
Support - Email account protection
This one, can be very important as your email security (registered email) is a top priority as it needs to be 100% secure as it's something that is used to change your pass or registered email or deactivate/activate the Authenticator + recovering the account if needed to be.
I highly suggest to get GMAIL and the 2 step factor, so if someone ever attempts to log into your email address account they need to know the code that's sent to your phone device which they cannot see, so therefor they can't get in and you'll get a warning email about it

RuneScape Authenticator
Onto the last one, you should get the Authenticator to protect your account and the only way it can be deactivated is to get access to your registered email but if you have the 2 step with it you won't get hijacked and have full security too.
