Christmas and other events in the past have also brought the players
together to help each other out, not so in the tinsel trail where you
encourage stealing off each other.I Got so fizzed off that i now go to
a world with as few in as possible.
These so called rares are not at all, W2 seems like everyone has a Scythe
for sale,300 mil yesterday 150 mil today, so 10 mil by end of th/event
Now if some of these come from key buying, which i guess many do,its
another kick in the pants for non key buyers and a victory yet again for
the PAY TO PLAY.
As mentioned before i can't recall a key promo and xmas event before.
Yo Ho Ho, MMG is soon to go.Best christmas present of all.
.And now the end is near its time to raise the final curtain.
Regrets i have a few, but i did it my way.

Wait what, limited number so I can be spending my time for nothing, I do not like this everyone should be able to get the rares if they collect enough snowballs.

Once again, I'm disappointed by most of these forum posters. Rarely is anything valid or useful ever said here. It's mostly complaints and snarky comments from the vocal minority.
Personally, I love the Christmas promo! I also love that it started early in the season so we have enough time to get some good stuff before we go on vacation and don't play for a couple weeks. I have never bought keys, but I do appreciate the option that some players have to purchase the keys and get items that they may not have had the time to earn the old fashioned way.
This is a game and only a game. The moment you get personally offended by Jagex for the direction they chose to bring the game is the moment you should reevaluate your priorities.
Thanks for the continued hard work Jagex staff. Merry Christmas
what minority are you talking about? its either your blind or acting to be , this game is losing more and more players and most of the community hates what jagex turned this game into , if you think "the minority" is against this then go look at all of those people that left this game due to eoc and MTX , heck over 20k decided to start over on 07... that tells you something.

I find it very ironic that there are people ranting about this while wearing santa hats and party hats. The old rares were able to be picked up by anyone who was online during the events, now you need to do something to acquire them. I don't understand what's the point here, are you just envious for someone as you haven't yet got any of them? if so, should everyone be envious for those who were playing RS when for example Santa hats were dropped? This is what I meant it being ironical to rant about his and be wearing a santa hat.
If you don't get any rares, why cry about it? If you buy a lottery ticket and don't win, do you rant about it or just buy another ticket? Also please note that there's no way playing lottery without buying a ticket while you CAN get a lot of snowballs for free...
rares back then were not rares , the old rares became rares because many many players dropped them... you see the difference here? rares were not rares but the current new rares are released as rares.

its ironic that the only people praising these MTX offers are the people with vip badges.
I wouldn't really call that irony. Makes sense to me that people who support the game instead of hating on it at every given opportunity would be the same players who would buy a year's worth of membership up-front.
Leave EOC out of this. Some people don't like EOC, but I've heard stories of people who left initially then came back to give it a try and they liked EOC. Other than that, there is legacy.
If you want to talk about driving people away from the game it's mostly because of the
squeal
treasure hunter and bonds.
Now on topic. It's the same thing all the time. With one spin or one key you can earn 100 times more snow/ghostweave/valentine's hearts/stardust/crown of seasons ingredients... than you can from one hour of honest gameplay. Those ratios are designed for some exaggerated statements from Jagex such as the following...
You can earn all the snow/ghostweave/valentine's hearts/stardust from gameplay!
We all know it's not true. Even Jagex knows it's not true. You need spins or keys to get the rewards.
Every element of the formula is there for all these promos.
1. Far more rewards on the squeal or treasure hunter than in game. Encourage buying keys/spins
2. Limited time availability. Usually 2 or 3 weeks. Encourage buying keys/spins
3. Very powerful rewards. Sometimes bonus xp, other times very valuable items. Encourage buying keys/spins
All 3 lead to massive microtransactions. I don't like it. It's always the same for every promo. The ratios are always horrid. This time it's even worse. 50,000 snow per day? Not possible without buying keys. I'm not happy.
