Honestly speaking, this was my same thought upon reading the news post.

Nothing personal against So Wreck3d or the other two... Mainly because I can't say anything personal about them. I don't really know who they are. I've watched maybe a handful of their videos but ultimately they're the same as the hundreds of other lesser-known RS video makers, none of which really catch my interest. If they've managed to amass a relatively large amount of views and subscribers on YouTube then good for them I guess, but how exactly does that translate into becoming a member of the RuneScape team? Moreover, how does that translate into being a voice for the players? My thought is that it doesn't, and I'm legitimately confused by this entire situation.

It's not that I necessarily have anything against these three being added to the RuneScape team, but more that I'm not understanding why - Specifically in how the news post is billing it as an example of the "year of the players". This certainly does nothing for me or my voice in regards to this game. It's not an example of Jagex "listening to the players". It's an example of Jagex listening to three players. Three players who post on Youtube a lot.

If you want to enlist players onto the RuneScape team for a more direct community input/output, I'm not sure why you'd look to Youtube - a media hosting site where you get spoken at rather than spoken with . If anything, you should be looking towards the leaders of fansites who have a constant, personal interaction with their respective communities and the RuneScape community as a whole.

A lot of players who become jmods have their account modded incase an emergency would arise where they have to take action at home when they can't be in the office.

For everyone wondering, the picture first appeared on august the 9th in a youtube video (Now removed instructions to the video) so unless the person who made them is a time traveler, the pictures are likely very real indeed.

Like everyone else has been saying I totally agree,Thrilled for the other two,but this guy trolled Jagex when EoC came out,twisted MMG's words,made a "Petition"About something that everyone was already asking for,and now he's given mod status,but not only the mod status is my issue,why does everyone act like old school servers was his idea?People have been asking for an old version of runescape for years,even before EoC came out,and once this one guy makes a "Petition"Everyone acts like its a revelation,And what about Dardan,You know,the trimmed comp caper who has been loyal to this game for countless years through thick and thin no matter what updates you'd throw at him he was always supportive and stood by Jagex always looking for the silver lining,We are not bitter,I hardly play as much as I used to and would not be able to balance the burden of being a Jagex while also working 12hours aday,I just think there are many many more people who would have been more worthy of the title(Smokey9112,A Friend,Woox16,Dardan),hell even Chris Archie is more deserving.Anyway I've gone on longer then I probably should have,inb4 this post gets hidden aswell because it isn't praising said person.
