Ok so i am going to give my personal view i have quoted a few other people and commenting on what they said so far but i have not shared my view fully yet.
~
So i am not upset with the winning layouts they are ''different'' from what i was expecting for the winning two layouts but i am personally upset that my layout was not viewed at all and it leads me to believe there may have been other layouts that could have been viewed as better that were also missed.
I strongly agree with some of the other posts about the layout winner being voted by the community and not the developers as it will become a preset layout for the game. a preset not picked by the majority could be viewed in a bad way as it is being viewed now.

Every entry sent to the competitions email address was reviewed. I can say this completely for certain as I have spent many
many
hours going through each and every one of them myself. Again, I am sorry if you are unhappy you didn't win but that does not mean your entry was not reviewed.
A poll would have been lovely but ultimately this was about showcasing a design that our developers felt would be an excellent addition to the presets.

I'm sorry you are unhappy that you didn't win Yaralda but attacking the other entries is not going to change anything. It would be unlikely that one single interface set up would have universal support from everyone, our developers chose the ones that appealed to them, it's understandable that others might appeal to you more but that doesn't mean others aren't valuable either.
It's not about winning, it's about the usefullness of the default layout. Do you mods really think that half screen covered with chatboxes is really that good? RS is not all about chatting. Shouldn't we be able to enjoy the new graphix?
You should also think about the new players. They might not no how to change those things. Default layout should be simple and balanced between PvM, skilling and chatting.
RuneScape may not be social for you but that does not mean it isn't for others
Whilst this will be a preset it won't be the initial interface that everyone will have to start with.
The interface system is all about choice, of which this will be one of several. On top of all that players can freely customise the layout to how they want.

100% certain it was not viewed, i submitted a video i had it unlisted so only people with the link could view the video. i viewed the video once to gain 1 view and i never got 2 views meaning the video was never viewed.
Crow, still no comment on the ridiculous prize for such a minimal effort? (Refer to my other posts for more detail)
For other competitions you've done, you've given out a single cosmetic and maybe a few months of membership for things that require a HUGE amount more effort than this (video making, guide writing etc) yet now there is a prize worth hundreds of pounds? Having your name in a game would be a huge prize in itself but for 'Your' NIS design competition that wasn't even chosen by us, i'd've expected a much different outcome altogether.

Some of those interfaces on facebook were quite nice. A shame mine didn't show up. =(
One thing that I now worry, after seeing all these entries, is that it is very difficult to create an interface that looks great and is very usable. I don't think a single entry, including my own has this balance because I feel that the interface system is just blandly designed.
Just a question:
When RS3 is launched, is it possible to see how many player use every design? I would like to know what other people think is the best default design to use? (not just about these two, but the skilling design, combat design and the others as well)

Have to agree with the majority - In my opinion both look far too busy, way too many chat boxes ultimately hindering game play rather than enhancing it (If each of these were toggle viable though, would be a different story)
The choice of using the design or not is a great idea (Ty for not forcing it upon us)
On a different note if any new player saw the designs and how slim the actual game play screen was - It could be detrimental and actually frighten away newcomers (Due to having to get used to every single screen/not misclicking etc)
I can see how the features are designed for social interaction and in that sense solely, they are both designed well.
For future interface designs could there be several catagories included please? Pvm/Social/Multi tasking (Any other catagories that are needed) - Not everyone are after the same things
Congrats to TechEngineer and Bresmine
May not be my cup of tea, but I am sure someone will enjoy it - Great work
