Will there be game updates where you choose your alliance to a God? It would've been a nice update, giving players an ever-ongoing goal in a tug-of-popularity, but it kind of seems meaningless now that most Gods are either dead or very unlikable. Will it be our only option to be against all Gods? It seems like the storyline is going that way and I and probably more players feel somehow abandoned, with lots of things to fight against but without really anything to fight for.

Why does Saradomin still grant me the power of prayer? He should know I'd rip his head off next time I get near him.

I've pitched something along these lines recently, so I hope to be talking to you about it soon.

I can tell you that you will not be forced to go against the gods. We'll try to present you with a choice, and the only times we will force you to confront a god is if they are killing innocents and potentially destroying the world.

Also, gods not all gods will be dead or unlikeable. We'll be presenting their philosophies, and each god will have valid points of view. Yes, even Zamorak.

Me and a friend of mine named Dastan Andon have a few questions to ask.

1. In the world wakes, how did Sliske get his hands on the Staff of Armadyl?
2. When will the penguins attack?
3. Will Nomad return anytime soon?
4. Is there a chance that Hannibus is still alive?
5. Did the mahjarrat have their own world before arriving to Gielinor?
6. How many Elder weapons are there?
7. Who will be Zaros next host?

1. He got it from the dragonkin. How he managed it is the subject of a future piece of story content.
2. Yesterday!
4. I'm a frayed knot.
5. Yep - Freneskae
6. 12
7. Ryan Seacrest.

oh forgot, but in more recent updates like the wiz tower update daemons have gotten a voice and it was hinted that we cold possibly learn something from them. will there be quests where you go into the daemon society coming?

This is a subject close to my heart. The Infernal Dimensions are hugely interesting to me, and we have a cracking backstory for how Zaros and Zamorak came to work with the demons. I hope that enthusiasm translates into some stories about the demons!

Love this! Hope to see more of these!

First off, thank you for TWW. It's one of the best quests I've done (not that I do a ton!) and I'm so glad that you guys made it with relatively low requirments. I'll start my questions now

nonlore:
1) So will quest requirments start over from the bottom now? With TWW being assumed as complete and through that all others being assumed complete?

lore:
1) We know a character is ascending, will it be a human?
Kerpac 2013
2) Will we get to see some new gods returning (or coming) that we havn't heard mention of yet?

Elder items:
3) How many are currently on gielinor? I counted horn(Frosthorn?), Guthix's sword, staff, stone(still on?), and the crown. So 5, possibly 6 based on your cryptic comment about the enchanted key.

4) Can Guthix's sword be repaired?

5) Will it be?

Seren:

6) I saw that she never left. Did she go incorperal(sp) like zaros and become the animundi(sp) or is she somewhere in physical form?

7) Did she and guthix have any kind of relationship that was more... personal?

8) Are the crying tree's her way of paying tribute/memorial?

9) Is brassica prime a legitimate god?

Thanks for your compliments on The World Wakes! It's all Ana - she did such a stunning job on it. I didn't think she could beat Branches, but she knocked it out of the park.

nonlore 1 - Lore-heavy quests CAN start at the lower end of skill requirements, yes. But don't worry - we will still release master and grandmaster content, and story content will almost always have a component that is for higher levels

lore 1 - Um, perhaps! I don't want to reveal anything, I'm afraid.
lore 2 - I'd like to keep these to a minimum. I don't want you to feel like there is an endless wave of gods ingame. I want each god to feel like they are offering something new, which is why I like Tuska so much.

Elder items 3 - How many on Gielinor? Good question! The majority is the final answer. And you can imagine that other gods will bring the rest. You're missing the TokHaar too.

4 - I would imagine so. But could anyone but an Elder God do it?
5 - Mayhap!

Seren 6 - She took extreme measures to avoid the edicts
7 - I want to go into detail in story content
8 - It is the anima mundi's way of paying tribute
9 - It is a god, but not one that we will be exploring in quest content

How do you manage your lore? Is there a secret Jagex wiki?
How much of the lore has been thought up for years but only sees the daylight now, and how do you go about working with it?

No secret Jagex wiki! The original wiki was Paul Gower, who kept every detail locked away in his head! I'm trying to keep up with him, but I'm never really going to compete.

There are two narrative designers here, and we're doing our utmost to document everything and make sure there are no contradictions. We also have dedicated lore enthusiasts in our QA team. Once we have had time to finish the wiki (weekly releases really scupper it) then we hope to slowly put elements of it up on the RuneScape wiki itself for you to read. That's some time in the future, and includes the timeline.

Quite a bit of lore is surfacing now that Paul created. He had thoughts on Zaros, Armadyl etc that I think you'll be hearing more of.

Thanks to the player owned port we are now able to explore the eastern lands.

Will we ever step foot on them?

Do the people of the eastern lands follow any gods?

If not why haven't the gods been there?

Are there any quests planned for the area? I would love to sail one of my ships and help my crew there.

Is there more then just the island chain?

I certainly hope we'll visit them. I'm almost certain we haven't seen the furthest reaches of the Eastern Lands, too.

The people of the Eastern Lands do not worship gods, and find the practice of worshipping gods quite curious!

1. Will we ever find out exactly who built the Duel Arena and why it is there?

2. Any plans for more content featuring Marimbo? Who is he, exactly, and will he return now that Guthix is dead?

3. Will Menaphos be opened up in the near future?

4. Any possible updates or expansions to Player-Owned Ports in the future (possibly a quest themed around it, where you actually get to visit the Eastern Lands yourself?)

5. Any big plans for Karamja? It's still a land whose past is largely shrouded in mystery (who are the Karamjan gods? Where did the Broodoo Victims come from? What ancient civilization built the Brimhaven Dungeon, and are there more horrors lurking in the Kharazi Jungle that we haven't found yet?) I'd love to see more Karamja-themed quests and lores, because (with the exception of the TzHaar area), it's one of the most neglected areas storyline-wise.

1. Absolutely! I can reveal that I have been helping with the lore on a graphical rework, and we are answering both of your questions.
2. There will be more content on Marimbo. He's the king of the swingers!
3. Not the near future - sorry
4. Almost definitely. As I have mentioned, I don't think we've seen the furthest reaches of the archipelago

I'm afraid this is my last question, so I'll try to make it interesting! Thank you so much for being patient with my typing and sticking around to chat about lore.

5. The Karamjan god will play a big part in future content. They'll be central to a lot of what happens in coming story.
