Hey T.S. Church,
I have three questions. :)
1) To appeal to all kinds of Runescape fans it must appeal to a lot of different people. Old, young, male, female and from all kinds of countries and cultures. How did you take this into account when writing the book?
Do you think there are universal, 'core'-things that make a book good?
2) How do you write the details of your story? I always have difficulties deciding on equivalent options, like whether the main characters parents died in a fire or in a mining accident.
3) How did you get involved in writing the book?
Regards,
A Thorondor

Hello Church and every other J-Mod out there.
My questions are the following:
1. What drove you to write a book about a Runescape? Was it because you enjoy the game so much or maybe because you didn't have any inspiration for you first book?
2. Have you ever though about in the book, it is mentioned that the Ring of Life is a very rare object and only exist about 10 of them (if I remember right), yet ingame, a player can buy it for around 10k in the grand exchance? :)
3. If you would have played another game instead of Runescape (if that's even possible), would you have written a book about that game instead?
4. What part of the book did you enjoy writing the most?
5. What would you do/say if the whole event through the book would become a huge series of quests in the game, going through all the parts of the book? Would you try the quest just to experience the life of the book in a virtual world?
(Comon Quest creators, that would have been a epic quest series).
That's all for me, please consider my questions. :D

Hey!
I bought your book back in 2009, read and enjoyed it. Okay, here we come with the questions:
- What's up?
- What relations do you have with Jagex? And how did publishing really work? Did you like first write the book for the sake of your own fun and then magically it appeared in the hands of Jagex, or did you ask Jagex in the first place or what?
- Are you writing a sequel?
- It was very fun to see existing RuneScape game details in the novel. Even such words like 'skills' were fun to read. Was it difficult to find the right balance between not to make the book too RuneScape-ish like a gameplay, and at the same time to put enough details into it to remind that it's the game that we're telling about? If you know what I mean.
- I live in Finland and English isn't my first language, and I learned 95% of my English in RuneScape. Thus, Betrayal at Falador was the first book I ever read on English. The language was so easy and rich at the same time, so I understood everything! Perhaps, was it the idea to make it easy-readible for the world?
- Were you thinking about continuing your writing career and writing about something of your own for change?
And the last, most important question...
- Add me in RS? What's your username? :D
Ok, wish you the best, and thanks man!

Dear Mr. Church,
My question for you is... what were the events (either in your life or in RuneScape) that inspired you to write "Betrayal at Falador"?
I ask this question for several reasons, I am interested to see how other writers start or get their ideas. I tend to write my stories based off of memories of earlier in my life, added with a twist.
The second reason is that I am actually writing a book for a new game recently released called StarCraft II. I was hoping for a few pointers, since I've never actually written about a game. Do you take some liberties on facts that were never stated?
The third, and final reason is because I actually found a link to a chapter a long time ago, but I never knew anyone who had the book here in my part of the United States.
###########################################################
I know you have a lot of questions and comments to read, but if you could reply to mine, I would greatly appreciate it.
Sincerely, Wormwood

1. What kind of research did you have to do into the realms and lores of Runescape to write this novel?
2. Did you have prior involvement with Runescape, or was this your first experience with the game?
3. How much of the novel was already canonical information in-game, and how much were you able to add?
4. Why did you select a werewolf as a villain?
5. Why did you choose characters like Doric, Kaqemeex, Sir Amiz Varze, Sir Tiffy Cashien, Drakan, and Abbot Langley as other characters. Some of these seem to be odd choices, as they don't play a large part in Runescape today, and I wondered if you were aminly interested in exploring their backstories, or if there was more involved.
6. I just wanted to say, I loved the way Anlaf, Daquarius, and Lord Sulla were used in this novel. It gave us more information on them today (excluding Sulla, but there is his legacy to consider) and I wanted to thank you for doing it well ^^

Thanks for taking this time to answer everyone's questions, and can't wait to see what you have to say ^^ Keep up the good work!
Thanks a ton!
