Beautifull - MMG mentioned earlier in this thread that our teams were looking at ways to make the SoF a little more subtle, so a few tweaks may well be coming in the future.
Quote by Mod MMG on page 14 of this sticky:
*As commercial as it sounds, to turn things round we needed to supplement years of falling revenues and reinvest the returns so that we could try and achieve growth again*
I do agree with your goal, I still don't agree with the means you have used to try to reach your goal.
Look at your game, look at your community, it's full of bots, scammers, hackers, gamblers etc..
The number of genuine players playing this game has been going down in the past few years, you haven't achieved growth in the number of genuine honest players, you have achieved growth in the number of cheating players.
Not something I would be proud of if I were CEO of Jagex.
Sorry if I have been blunt

:O
:O Finally less than that ugly goblin sticking out of my screen every time I log in, chat messages on every login, half the homepage articles and a third of homepage banners dedicated to it?
Sounds like about time! I love those news
But:

@ DontdotheDew “Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't gold farmers generally do nothing more than recycle money, not create it? By that I mean that they gather resources, sell them on the GE for money, and then sell that money to their customers. This process creates no GP. The only way I can think of that they'd be producing so much cash is if the bots are casting alchs on all of their crap drops (rune armor/weaponry and below).
Also, I'm really not sure if the way to demonstrate that something isn't bad is to compare it to something that's worse and say that it's good by comparison >.>”
Consider yourself corrected DontdotheDew
Yes, they do indeed generate/create a vast amount of wealth through botting.
Equally my earlier point wasn’t one of “SoF is not as bad as goldfarming” but rather addressing the question about is SoF causing inflation of the economy.
===
Mind if I corrected You as well, MMG? Bots do not cause inflation, they do cause deflation, giving more supply for the products, with steady demand. Have a look at GE graphs post the first nuke to see it. Value of those falls. Deflation.
While the SoF creates pure gold. It has rune items which only do get alched, it has convert to coins option, it has money prizes. Those do put in more gold, increasing the supply of gold with steady demand. Its value falls. As gold's value minimizes, prices rise. Inflation.
Not sure on the rate of resources/gold on the SoF but from what I've seen it seems kinda pro-gold.
Moerdred - I copied your post and will make sure it gets passed on up the chain, thank you for the constructive feedback, it's always appreciated.
Weesliske - If by SGS you mean Saradomin Godsword, I quite like the way it is, it has those prongs for trapping and breaking your opponents blade, and stopping you from getting your sword stuck in 'em!
That said, Bandos is still my favorite, it's just so intimidating!
If instead you meant SGS as Solomon's store, I would personally like to see a few more dancing emotes as I have passed on some great suggestions from players for them recently, like Gangham style and Caramelldansen
