My favourite summer-time event happened last summer. I was out on a houseboat on the beautiful Shushwap Lakes of British Columbia. It was a hot summer day out so naturally I decided I would go on to the top deck and get some sun. It wasn’t long before I drifted away. I woke up to an unpleasant surprise. My friend had placed my hands over my, chest, and I woke up with a sun burn all over my torso. A sunburn, and a nice new hand-print bikini tan line. I was 6’2” and 240lbs at the time.

One year, on the hottest day of the year, I went on a trip to a water park and I forgot to wear sunscreen. After being in the sun for eight hours, I had received a full-body sunburn. Once I had returned home, my parents decided to cook lobster for dinner. My family could not stop making remarks on how I was more red than the lobster.

Many summer moons ago, I had taken a trip down the shore. Early in the morn, right around sunrise, I had been taking a stroll along the water when I came across something large.. Sure enough, a big beastly shark had washed ashore! At first, my instincts were to stay as far away as possible from this man-eating-monster, but upon closer inspection I had seen it's left fin had been nicked up quite a bit. I had warned my parents who were taking the walk with me of what I had seen on the poor thing. My father called the Coastguard who within the next 20 minutes got there and loaded the crippled beast into a vehicle which to this day, I haven't the slightest clue what it actually was. (I've assumed some sort of Aquatic-nature Ambulance.) The shark was brought to a place, treated, but not re-released into the ocean. To this day, he resides at an aquarium on the East Coast, USA, 14 years old, and healthier than ever. ^_^

My greatest summer memory would have been the date with my girlfriend. We spent a whole day at our states theme park, riding the largest wooden roller coaster in the states and riding some awesome water slides and rides! We also paid to free fall together 80 feet! It was exilerating. After that fall, I explained how love I loved her and asked her to marry me! We are now happily engaged and have spent the summer on the beach watching sunsets, and having cookouts with our families. This summer has been one I'll remember for a lifetime

At the beginning of this summer i went to scout camp at Utah Lake. My scoutmaster's dad brought up his boat and so we hit the water about an hour after setting up camp. There i was able to stand up and work the wake board for the first time. We also tubed and rode the water weenie at the same time and had a blast jumping from one tube to the other!

During the summer of 2011, I was so relieved that school and exams were over.
So in celebration, I gathered my friends and headed out to the beach.
Now we all know that same story of someone getting horribly sun burned. Well, lets just say I got something much worse. My friends and I encountered a dead moon jellyfish on the shore. And as stupid as it sounds, I poked it because of the dare of my friends.
Suddenly, I couldn't stop itching. I had turned into a big mess. I looked like an ogre with my swollen lips and eyes.

It was a nice summers days, it was my Friends 18th birthday, and I group of about twenty of us got to her house, and set up a small village of tents in here garden next to the lake. First thing we did after the tents went up was go for a splash about, most of us in wetsuits but the more daring ones in just there shorts/bikinis, after about an hour of that we retired from the lake set up the bbq, set up the music system and drank beer until the sun rose the next day.

For the last 2 years myself and the whole family have gone on a Summer vacation trip to Cancun, Mexico. We are from Canada so we tried to tan as much as we could before going. However during and after the trip we were all always sun burnt like crazy LOL But the best part of those trips for me was just enjoying the great hot weather, drinking some awesome tropical drinks on the beach and getting to swim with dolphins. Really fun memories with the family!

My fondest summer memory is when me and my family visited the amazing sunny island of Lanzarote, me and my dad and our family friend Les decided to climb a 1000ft mountain named Monta Corona, a sheer shard of rock rising from the earth and when after three hours we finally reached the summit and we could see the whole island, Les decided to tell us he had vertigo.
