I love this idea, it'd be a great way to bring the rs community together just that little bit more (:
As for a suggestion, perhaps in every article there could be a random question, or a full quiz about a recent topic, or even just a random subject about something in-game! All for fun of course, though the winner could be announced in the following issue, and so forth?
I'd be interested in hearing about what CM is doing, and I'd like to write an article or two as well. Making a caption for a picture would be fun as well
.
Sounds good to me.
If it is to be a long paper, make it monthly... don't overwork on this. If it is short, weekly or bi-weekly would be great. Someone mentioned pictures with captions... perhaps the picture chosen for the paper should be given a Jagex caption, the submitters caption if present, and then challenge the community to come up with better captions, the best of which will be posted in the next article along with a new picture...
My suggestion for this is to pick through some of the suggestions that were deamed good enough to submit to the content developement team to see what they thought about it, and find the most interesting of those suggestions and agknowledge that they were good by printing the thread title, quick-find code, and a summary of the idea. Many suggesters have stopped suggesting good ideas simply because no mod had time to acknowledge that it was good with a post... too busy trying to read as many suggestions as possible and submiting the best ones to content developement so they can think about them. This small acknowledgement will keep many suggesters happy enough to keep the suggestions flowing, and likely more good ones will begin to be found because they would want to earn a spot in the newspaper. This section would be labeled with a nice "No Promises Here" sign, to stop people from thinking about the suggestions as future content.
Sorry for the epic post

Also I am liking the idea of an obituary section, but it should also feature players who died in interesting (or upsetting) ways, and a summary of how they died. An obituary including Boss monsters, the amount of times they were killed since the last paper, and maybe a description of how they were owned in some way would still be interesting to read though.

I would like a 'This week at Jagex owers' section, where all the sections of the team give us a little update on what they have been doing that week, because after BTS left, Jagex's developments have seemed a bit cut off (there aren't frequent enough developer blogs)
This might also reduce some 'OMG no updaet thees w33k!!11!' posts, every week when you're working on a larger thing.
Let's skip the article and let's work on some updates shall we?
Updates vs Newsletter
Updates win
We have had a lack and complete update in a long time. Which means let's not think about the half-put-together updates that took twice as long than the regular half-put-together updates and think back when we had complete and daily updates.
Would rather have updates daily than Newsletters and Developers Blogs.
It's truly a shame because when started out didn't even know about the aily update and when found out about them loved reading them and was always checking to see if there was something interesting or there was a new poll out.
Now polls are rarely changed and you guys are skipping to every other week and the updates aren't even complete. Think you guys started this trend with the summoning skill to be honest..
Yes we understand that some things are difficult and it's getting more difficult, but is that an excuse? Just hire better people and work more... You guys chose this so comon what are you waiting for?
